I had the pleasure to have the Tour with Yasar and Erdem on the walking and Bosphorous Tour. Both are really passionate about their job and explained a lot of historical and cultural value. Moreover, their English was really good, which I really appreciated. I would recommend them for everybody, who wants to visit Istanbul.

Our guide Yaşar was really knowledgeable and nice, took us around all main historic places in Sultanahment, did not give us infopuke, instead of it important info, funny and interesting stories and eventually, arranged great lunch for us. It is breathtaking what a history is behind this city. Thank you, highly recommend this tour

We were fortunate to have Tahir as our tour guide. He took us all around the Sultanahmet Area and showed us some remarkable places, explaining the history of each one, he also gave us great advices in what to see, what & where to eat and how to get around the city. It is best to take this tour as... More

My sister and cousin visited istanbul on 22nd December 2016. It was a very last minute decision to do a city tour and we contacted Viaurbis at 10.30pm and they accepted them for the next morning city tour 😉 very efficient and a great tour guide served them. Thank you.

It was my second visit to Istanbul and this time I decided to go on a free tour after doing an excellent one in Krakow earlier this year. Took me a while to find this one as due to tourism crisis in Turkey some of them have been suspended. The tour started at 10.45 from the central square in Sultanahmet... More

We took a tour with Yasir in November. He was very knowledgeable and organized. We learnt interesting information about Turkey and Istanbul, some of them I still wonder if were true or jokes. We were a small group so that added to the value of the tour. What I found quite interesting was selling paid tours on free tour -... More

Yasar Isik spoke excellent and was very informative. There were only three of us so he adapted the tour to what we wanted to see. He showed us some very interesting places and had a wealth of knowledge to share with us. He also gave us tips on where to buy things and what not to do. Perfect walking tour!

I had Pertev (older smaller man, native Istanbul-ite) for the free walking tour in early November on a chilly day. The tour was worth a tip but needs improvement. +good things 1. Pertev's English was easily comprehensible. Fast and clear. Really no problem with that. 2. He has been doing tours for a long time and he clearly has a... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
