We took a ferry across the Bosphorus with stop overs on both the Asian as well as European sides. We could hop over at any stop and spend as much time we wanted and get back on the same company ferries as per the schedule....More

The Bosphorous is teeming with water traffic...ferries, ocean freighters, pleasure craft, naval ships, cruise liners. You get a totally different perspective of Istanbul from the Strait and you get a sense of how important this waterway is to Turkey and the world.

Definitely a highlight in Istanbul. The view is available from the public ferry or a private charter. Both the European and Asian continents have all their history on display together with some expensive real estate. This is the best way to see it all.

One of these ways to get introduced to the city is to book a tour on the Bosphore. One learns a bit of the history of the city while enjoying the view. The villas on the Bosphore are delightful , as well as the fortresses,...More

The easiest and best tour is from Ortakoy and they have an hour long tours of Bosphorus. It is cheap and so lovely to see beautiful homes along the straight close up. It is one of my favorite activities in town

wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of
opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For
folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a
constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s
waterways are to its rich history, there's the

We had a simple tour, no stops on the way - departure from a pier between Halic and Eminonu. It was 15 Turkish lira per person, not crowded and very nice cruising speed, so we can enjoy the view. There were people inviting... More

Don't fall for the boat company thing unless you want to just drive around the water. When we went, we went specifically to visit the princess island, we took the tram to the dock and got tickets. It was a really nice ride... More
