Neighbourhood: Sisli
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.

It took us only 10 minutes from Marmara Taksim Hotel to reach Sultana's 1001 Night Show Restaurant. Dinner cum Belly Dance was organised in the Basement. All guests were honoured by displaying their country's flag alongwith the Turkish flags on their respective tables. We opted for the Non-Veg Dinner & Alcohol pkg @ Euro 70/- per head. The Show started with much fanfare. Three couples dressed traditionally performed a Turkish dance for about 10 minutes. Thereafter a very petite and pretty lady, in her late thirtees, performed majestically and tried to make eye contacts with her spectators. This show lasted for about 7 minutes. Another lady came and performed for 7 minutes or so and her performance could also be termed as average. This was followed by yet another show by two men dressed in a cowl, with their hands entwined on their heads hidden in the cowl and puppet like faces drawn on their stomachs. It was a childish show. They also asked four of us men to come up on stage and made us sit on stools with our knees joined together, our hands entwined with one another and stools were removed one by one thus we were sitting without stools. Last Show was performed by a very pretty girl whose performance was very good and worth seeing as she knew her act well. The meal was cold and they just had a local beer to go as an alcoholic drink. The Show was overpriced at Euro 70/- per head. Overall an average performance

We went here for New years eve and paid about 100 Euros per person. It was a little over priced and the food was less. it did include alcohol but even then was a little over priced. The tables were cramped together but the show itself was good.

Everything was really excellent, first of all they will pick you up in a van and take you to the restaurant and return you to the hotel, also very good at solving all kinds of problems, in my case I had problems because I arrived at the hotel after hours in which they would pick me up and the administrator has an excellent disposition to help. The place is small but fabulous, the staff's attention is excellent, the dishes are very tasty, filling, and the drinks too.

Regarding the show, I think it is the best in the city, the quality of the dancers is sensational. In my opinion, the show they give on the famous Bosphorus cruise and the food they give there is terrible compared to the gastronomic, artistic and service quality of the Sultanas. The experience is expensive, it costs 85 euros per person, but it is 100% worth it

We had such an amazing night! The service was great, they couldn’t do enough for you! We were celebrating a birthday and left feeling really special. The atmosphere was excellent and the belly dancing was incredible! I would highly recommend an evening here.

We bought an exceptional package for an unforgettable night. The service is very good, free shuttle transfer from our hotel, warm welcoming, unlimited drinks, delicious dinner compiling a plate of traditional appetizers, salad, cheese pie, and the main dish + dessert is up to your choice (out of 3 options). Food is plenty and comes fast.
The show was about 2 hours of different girls belly dancing, a big team of dancers making a complete Turkish night, expressing their traditions (wedding ceremony, folkloric dance and the harem party). The ambiance was great and exceeded my expectations.

We had an amazing  night at Sultana’s Restaurant. This is a fine dinning belly dance venue in Istanbul. You need to reserve a table in advance because it can get very crowded. The fairytale atmosphere takes you to another time, surrounded by beautiful women belly dancers. The delicious food and good drinks are also worth trying. Once the dinner is over, the party goes on and everybody is dancing. It was a great experience!

When in Rome, Do as the Romans do; similarly, one in the heart of Turkey, try to get a sense of how people used to be really entertained. Belly dancing belongs to middle east and is well preserved as a practice in Turkey. The performance and feminine curves and stretches are meant not only to draw maximum attention but also to relieve the spectator from daily thoughts and cares. This performance is unique as it gives and opportunity into near past.

I was in Istanbul traveling with a friend, and she desperately wanted to see a belly dance show. After consulting with the hotel we chose Sultana's, and opted to pay a bit more for an a la carte menu rather than getting stuck with their menu choices on the prix fixe. The shuttle was 15 minutes late, and refused to drive onto the street out hotel was on (a perfectly driveable road, the same one the Pera Palace is on). So we had to follow the driver for a 5 minute walk/run (because we were already late).

The actual show wasn't awful, but was definitely not authentic either. It was basically the Turkish version of Medieval Times in the US. So if you enjoy getting crammed cheek-to-jowl into a room (they want as many customers as it is possible to fit in the space, even if that means lots of heads blocking the view), overly loud, cheesy dancing, and an extremely inflated cost, then by all means go.

We ordered off the menu, but ended up being served the prix fixe menu anyway and not what we ordered. The food was the worst I had anywhere in Turkey. At the end when I tried to ask for the difference in cost back, the manager first told me to ask for a refund at the hotel (where we had paid) though I'm sure they would have just declined. When I pushed the issue the manager tried to accuse my friend and I of drinking 2 full bottles of wine (SO far from the truth, although over-drinking was certainly tempting to get through the evening). In the end he ended up chasing me down and giving me some cash, saying "Now you should be happy." I wasn't. And then to make matters worse the return shuttle dropped us off 10 blocks from our hotel on a street that was unfamiliar to us, leaving us alone at midnight with no clue how to get back to our hotel.

As this was our last night the show caused me to leave Istanbul with a bad experience fresh in my mind, which is really unfortunate given how great the rest of our trip was.

The group of women I was traveling here was booked here by a tour company. We had belly dancing lessons by a girl who had authentic belly dancing skills upon arrival and then sat down & waited for dinner & the show, I wish we would have gotten out while the getting out was good! The food was disgusting & the belly dancing was not belly dancing at all it was glorified strip dancing!
