Neighbourhood: Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

At the check in desk the lady told me that I have to show negative COVID test to my Mexico flight. When I arrived Mexico immigration officer told me that they are not required COVID test! I lost my time and money!

Had long waiting 2 ways each more then 10 hours. Didn't feel the time airport is big, there is many napping zones with comfortable lounges it is free of charge and it's very clean, many bathrooms everywhere, many terrace zone to smoke. Quite reasonable prices at restaurants. I would only advice to go to your gate as soon as you see it on a time table as its mostly far to walk to the departure gates.
There is buissness lounge from the airport it self costs about 60 $but you can only pay via card they don't accept cash. Turkish Airlines lounge only accept their gold & platinum card holders.

Helpful staff.

We took the Turkish Airlines flight to Paris with my family to avail of the free sightseeing tour of Istanbul during the layover. We enjoyed it, even if it was just for around 4 hours because the kids had the view of what is Istanbul. Although it did not pass through Haggia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, at least they had the view of the city itself.

Good for me because I was in Turkey before.

One of the worst airports. LONG waiting for Passport control. But outside it waits a hell to get a Taxi. The Hotel Transfer counter wants to charge to 60€, next to the left 50€. But further left we found one for 25€ which is acceptable for a van, but probarbly yellow Taxi would be around 100-150 Lira depending on the negotiation.

I arrived at the Domestic terminal from Marmaris about 1600 hrs on Wednesday July 25, 2018.with a temperature of 40 C (104F) and was delirious. My wife Maria asked for help and we were directed to a small clinic with a doctor , Nurse and helper. They determined I had a serious infection and administered antibiotics, began cooling my body and administered an IV drip. By 1800 hrs. they had my temperature back to normal, my breathing had improved and I made my international connextion to Bucharest. This small clinic and it's personnel were nothing short of miraculouis. The service was free and no one would take a tip. Thank you domistic arrival clinic Ataturk. Guy M. My last flight was in May with Turkish Airlines, and it was a pleasant one. A decent space between seats and in addition feet rest. They still give you all those goodies to make your self more comfortable including lip balm. The food was very tasty. I chose Turkish wine instead of French, and it was a good choice. All together an excellent experience.

We travelled to our holiday by Turkish Airlines. (by Istanbul). I've been seriously disappointed by Havaalani Ataturk Airport (transfer service).
On our way to the holiday destination we had 3 hours in the transfer zone - we were there for the first time and we were struggling to get information where to go and what to do - no one to ask (only shops and bored sleepy people, who were not happy to help).
On our way back we got twice wrong information from the airport staff which queue to follow (yes, for some reason we had to pass a control), the staff was not friendly and helpful.
The toilets are dirty. And not only toilets.
