This used to be a tree lined park, where the old guys would come to play chess, couples relax and children run around. Not so much anymore , although couples do come and sit on the benches. Not too far away, in the direction of...More

Nice park with Amir Taimur's monument, good place to take a relaxing walk and enjoy the serenity with the once soviet time classic Uzbekistan hotel in the background,

A massive Statue of Amir temur is a real attraction in the middle of the park. Significant attraction for this place ,which has very few places to visit and most places are out side Tashkent like the Bhukara , samarkand etc.

The real purpose of visiting Amir Temur Square isn't to celebrate the national hero, although you easily do that too. It's to marvel at the facade of the extraordinary Soviet-modernist Hotel Uzbekistan. Surely one of the finest 20th century acts of architectural daring you'll ever...More

Beautifully maintained by women who sweep the paths and also by students seen weeding the flower beds. Apparently university students have to do voluntary work one day a month to maintain the appearance of their city. An idea which should be copied!

A good place to visit. Multiple things to see and visit or spend time to eat and try local specialties in nearby cafes, and markets. Good for visiting during lunch time

This square is one of many in Uzbekistan and one of the more interesting. Amir Temur was an exciting leader who fought for his country. He was also a ruthless leader and many prisoners were killed in this square very cruelly.
