About
The complex building begun in 2009 and completed in September 2014. From the very beginning the complex – “Kohi Navruz” was planned as the biggest national tea house in Central Asia, but in the process of building it turned into a real museum of national handicrafts of Tajik people. The whole territory of the complex including fountains, summer pavilions and garden – takes more than four hectares. Approximately four thousands of craftsmen from all parts of Tajikistan were involved in the process of building. Generally, the handicrafts of the complex are about forty thousand sq. m., they are: decorative wood carving of colon and ceilings, wall decorations: woodcarving, Florentine mosaic in colored mirrors, painted ceilings. Height of the biggest cupola is forty meters. The complex has seven lifts, including panorama elevator, bowling, billiard, movie theater 3D, night club, shop art gallery and a small national teahouse, but the most breathtaking side of the building is its halls.

Navruz Palace is a large complex of rotundas, a palace, a cinema, entertainment halls, and meeting rooms. The building is grand and monumentally large with rooms of magnificent chandeliers, parquetry floors, and long columns (including a lapis lazuli column).

Navruz palace is one of the newly built high class structures in Dushanbe which is used for official ceremonies such as welcoming foreign leaders. The palace itself cannot be visited but you can explore the exterior. There are some good restaurants around it as well.

The Navruz Palace is on Ismail Somoni Avenue, to the left of the Varzob river which runs through town. It is easily reached by taking trolleybus 2,10 and 11 or Bus 8,13 23 and 37 to the Navruz Palace bus stop. The entrance to the park is through a brown arch with gold letters. To the right are two fountains, and if you continue straight ahead the Komsomol (Youth) lake can be seen. The sand and beach chairs seemed like the perfect spot to relax and watch the activities on the lake. We arrived early in the morning before the palace was open, so were restricted to taking photos of the exterior.
We thought that the two Gazebo's were the most attractive structures in the park. The underside of the blue domed structures were decorated with many colours and had eight (8) images of famous Persian poets and the years of their life. We recognised most of the poets including Rumi (1207–1273), Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani (1314–1384), Jami (1414–1492), Badriddin Hilali (1470-1529), Abdul-Qādir Bedil (1642–1720 and the only lady, Princess Zeb-un-Nissa (1638–1702). We thought that this was a great way of recognising these famous poets, and we sat on the steps relaxing here and viewing the lake.
The Palace was initially built to host a conference of leaders, but is now available for rental. The building has four main halls; Guliston, Didor, Zarandud and Arzhang. There is also a cinema, stores and a nightclub within the Palace. If you enjoy architecture this site is a must visit, and a great place to relax.

We were invited for a banquet dinner on our visit to Dushanbe and i totally unexpected to see such a place. It impressed on the inside more than from the outside. Every room and hall was better and more beautiful than the previous one. It is very beautiful. All hand made, all made by Tajiks and from Tajik materials. I would say it must be The place to see in Tajikistan.

The outside of the building is pretty impressive but get a tour of the inside and it will blow you away !
It is absolutely beautiful and not tacky in the slightest (well maybe the mirror rooms!)
The craftsmanship is stunning and it's clear that no expense was spared on this monument to a ruler (because that is what it clearly is !)

The Kohi Navruz is a Tajikistan gesture of stately hospitality. When I first heard about it while on a mission in Dushanbe, it was described as a place with four rooms, made in all wood, all glass, all stone. What an understatement it turned out to be! Rooms that could seat 200 delegates surrounded by gold columns, or entire walls inlaid with semi-precious stone, or hand carved giant wood doors and panels. The smallest one was all glass.
The President's pet project, it was readied to host the SCO meeting some years ago. You will see the recurrence of 16 as a motif in the design- the President's lucky number.
The huge garden overlooking the manmade lake, open for weddings and parties, and not unaffordable for a one-time memorable occasion- 5000 dollars for 150 guests, for maximum three hours of celebration. A steal, some would say, with the grandeur thrown in. I let it all sink in and clicked pics in awe, wondering if I'd come here for my 60th birthday with a tow of friends and family.
This is a different kind of experience, something one doesn't get to see in modern times.
Not to be missed if you are in Dushanbe.

From outside you will be amazed by the grandiose facade of the building, chandeliers, and wall designs. But in the inside, several entertainment rooms are empty. There is a bowling area, with no one bowling. Cinema on the right side, which I don't also see any one coming in. There are several other rooms I did not try to enter. On the lower level of the building is a supermarket which is very small. On the right of the building is a five star hotel, on the left is a carnival park for families and kids, and behind it is a lake.

there are not many if any old historical buildings in Dushanbe. and if you are there for a few days on business or traveling to Pamirs the visit to Kokhi Navruz would be interesting. Its a huge grandiose complex built for Shanghai Group countries- members, has several enormous halls for assemblies closed for public but you can arrange a tour there even in English. I guess pay is informal and you can bargain to your price. It has golden room, mirror room, stonr rooms, all decorated by hundreds of artisans with oil painting, wood carvings. in this building you forget that you are in one of the poorest countries. if you free time and visited market, history museum and looking what else to see it can be a place.
