After visiting the Khan Clock Tower, we saw this stupa as we drove by. We briefly stopped here and take some pictures. The distancw between these 2 attractions is about 5 minute drive. Not sure whetjer they are open to to the public and where the entrances are located, we left after lur brief visit.

One of the most iconic tourist places in Colombo, Sambodhi Chaithya is a magnificent Buddhist stupa which is built in the shape of a space rocket!

Climb the 7 stories of stars to this space-aged concrete monstrosity overlooking the water in Fort. Inside is a panorama describing the bringing of Buddhism to Sri Lanka. Next to the Maritime Museum. Nice views. Free.

Nice location to see the port of colombo. It is better to have a visit on morning and evening. Binocular would be ideal.

You have to climb several flights of stairs to go inside this temple. Enjoy the views of the city while you do so.

This temple stands above the city of Colombo and looks impressive from a distance. Not the most interesting temple close up.

Another Buddha temple but smaller one. There is one maritime museum nearby with some paintings of Port City.

It seems like it's going to be hard to climb all the way to the top, but it's not. This Pagoda is situated inside a temple. The temple is enriched with this Pagoda and as well as a museum. Speaking of the pagoda, There are beautiful drawings inside the pagoda and it allows us to have a wide and clear view of the Colombo city, Port city and the harbour. Will be a wonderful experience you could climb on a day with a beautiful sunset.

You will find this near the Old Lighthouse and it was built in 1956, but is one of the most amazing sights in the city. The stupa stands on two arches that are many meters above the road.
