The museum is in a beautiful building that has recently been renovated. The layout is very old fashioned - you can not just go to the rooms that interest you, you need to follow the trail IKEA style - but unlike IKEA there are no...More

Much more than what we expected - many galleries with interesting exhibits. Had to rush through as it closed at 5pm.

I enjoyed the museum but the café staff were so rude. I understand I don't speak Sinhalese but there's no need to ignore me when I'm desperately thirsty and just serve locals. I waited patiently. Tourists, don't waste your money in this cafe it's xenophobic.

Worth a visit, but allow sufficient time to meander through the two stories of galleries. It's hot, cooled only by odd fans turned towards the attendants' chairs, but the displays are fascinating. Chairs for the hot and weary would be a great improvement!

It's a large museum, so needs time and energy. You have to go there if you have gone to SL for more than the beaches and the food! We noted some very interesting displays, and also, of course, one or two dreary sections

The entrance fee in the museum is 600 srilanka rupees for the foreigners. For srilankans it's very cheap I think 100 only. The rate for camera is 250 separate.
