I addition to visting temples and mosques, we also visited some Catholic Churches in Colombo. This was one of them. There were two policemen who checked our bags before entering the church. I guessed this was a precautionary measure against any future bomb attack of this church.

There are some scalfoldings inside the church to what appeared to be repairing stained glass windows. Briefly said our prayers here before leaving.

One of the most holiest shrines in Sri Lanka. A part of St Anthony's tounge is on display and the shrine is considered a miraculous place. The church is not limited to roman Catholics alone but is visited by all faiths.

St Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade (Colombo) is a place of spiritual significance. The lovely architecture and peaceful atmosphere create a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling city. The shrine's rich history and religious importance make it a significant landmark for both locals and visitors. Inside, the ornate interior and beautiful stained glass windows inspire a sense of awe and reverence. St Anthony's Shrine is a must-visit destination in Colombo if you are a Roman Catholic as it is a one the shrines in Sri Lanka. It is a famous place for miracles and people from other religious (Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam) visit this church.

One of the most visited shrines in Sri Lanka, Place of many miracles, bombed by Islamic extremists, restored to its original glory. Must visit place regardless of the faith. Weekdays mid-morning is quiet and just be still you will feel the presence.
