Built by the British when they controlled Sri Lanka . Located across the street from the beautiful Vihara Mahdevi Park.

Outdoor section only, the interior was closed. Intrigued and impressed by the things dating from centuries ago that are on this site. Needs some restoration as it is now old and neglected

The building is still in use for municipal purposes and is not readily available for a look inside. What can be seen suggests it is in need of renovation. The collection of old municipal vehicles and equipment below the building is interesting but deteriorating badly.

It must have looked nice at one time. Now it is only old and neglected. The fire trucks are parked in the front and I guess it is used as a station. There is a museum inside which we did not visit.
