Well, its a such a small place to be called zoo, Islamabad is such a beautiful city but this zoo? many cities in the world are only famous for their zoos..but I don't know why the CDA management haven't learnt anything... It's better to visit Lake view park then wasting your time here at Islamabad's so called Zoo.

Nothing to see there but only what they call Neil Gay... you will see them in every cage.. what I can say is that the people only go to Islamabad Zoo for it's one and only Elephant else nothing to see there. if you really want to visit the Zoo, you 'd better to visit in the evening and one hour is enough. Karachi and Lahore Zoos are much better.

It is a favourite destination for children and families ,especially on weekends. The entrance fee is very low as compared to zoos in other countries. Margalla hills at its back, You can find greenery, natural beauty, relaxation and a peep at the animals like zebras, giraffe, monkeies elephant etc and birds like kites, swans etc .

This is a very shameful zoo animals were kept in small cages, the bear, elephant, lion were all visibly stressed all pacing back and fourth, the bear was facing the wall the whole time with his head down his nails were so long they were curling the whole cage was cement so he had no place of scratching his claws their was no water for the bear to cool down in or for the explanation the elephant was hitting his head off the wall and the lion was very thin and kept pacing back and fourth for 1 hour straight. They had multiple species of birds in one large cage and they were all having a massive battle Royale, they kept owls and eagles in the same cage, the monkeys were looking at us with small and painful eyes made my heart hurt so much. The only healthy animals were the ones that could sustain themselves on grass and water. The female lion was making weird sounds and was limping for most of the time and the other half she was lieing down looking very thin aswell. I did not even bother with the Dino park although I have heard it is good. People were throwing apples and popcorn on all the animals they were hitting the bear on the head with apples and no zoo keeper in sight for almost my whole 2 hour trip. Parents were encouraging their children to yell at the animals and throw food in the cage and it was only the peolle from lower class like villagers. The smart people who instantly knew this was wrong left the zoo after only 10 minutes of visiting. I had a conversation with a man and he said the stench made him almost vomit from the elephants cage. The whole zoo was littered with trash. Was honestly one of the most embarrassing and shameful places I’ve ever gone too. This should not be brushed under the rug and needs to be brought into the light. It’s 2020 people why are we letting these people get away with animal abuse. Please islamabad fix this zoo it’s super deppresing

This zoo is well known for chaining it's lone elephant Kaavan and training him with beating and cruelty. It is not appropriate for children or adults. Recently, a zebra starved to death while in their care. Please do not support this zoo that cares nothing about animal welfare.

It was embarrassing to see how poorly the zoo is kept. I would like to see a public audit of the zoo for sure. It is suppose to be a family and kids place but you will mostly find single men roaming about gawking at women. Unless this zoo is privatized I see no hope. A disappointment indeed like many other government run facilities. Animals are suffering.

Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains. In one of the prime locations of the national capital. Easily accessible by road. It has everything needed to make it a success.

It’s too bad that the “zoo” is a disgrace. The animals enclosures are a joke. The grounds are trashed by the hordes or visitors who seem to have no concept what a trash can is for, or that throwing popcorn at animals isn’t healthy.

Children have fun here. Adults will enjoy watching the children having fun. But overall it’s a pathetic zoo.

Specifically the poor elephant is in need of medical attention but his cruel keepers will not let him leave. He must go to a sanctuary immediately & get medical attention! I will never ever visit a zoo without making sure it is a reputable one!

I was very disappointed by the way, the animals condition where. They where clearly stressed and the cages was not suitable or clean. The elephant stood up, bashing the head from side to side and the same counts for the bear. I felt sorry for going there and can not recommend it at all.

The animals are in horrible cages, there was no water in the duck pond in very hot weather, the elephant was showing signs of distress repetitively weaving head - swaying it repeat fashion., a brown bear was showing same signs of distress - swaying it body side to side. heart ached to see animals like this.
