The throat singing was amazing. The traditional musical instruments sounded wonderful and were performed with pride and skill by the musicians. The dances were energetic and colourful.

You have to pay extra to take photos.

If you are not travelling with a guided tour, there is an organised but perplexing method in buying tickets. Other reviewers have covered this in detail.

Only the back row has seats with a back rest so head for those if you need back support. The rest of the seats are in a low semi circle surrounding the floor level performance area.

We all loved the performances.

I went there with a group. Every performances were nice enough. Specially the khuumii song. The ticket price was included in the package price so I were did not know. There were too many people who did not have tickets. Book early.

You don’t need to buy your ticket. It is walkable from downtown area. Ticket sells 30 min before the performance. You need to get a number from machine before buying a ticket. 30,000 for the ticket and additional 20,000 for photography or video. I think it was worth to pay for 20,000 ( less than $8 US) for photography. I recommend 24-70mm zoom F2.8. I brought 35mm F1.4 and was too wide. Content was similar to National Theater nearby. More intimate in scale. Very entertaining. Photos uploaded are from iPhone.

An hour is just enough on the uncomfortable seats but the show is entertaining. Especially I enjoyed the throat singing (and whisteling at the same time)!

Loved every moment of it. Colorful, fast and a lot of variety to break the monotony, this is easily among the top things to see in Mongolia. I have read and seen a few negative reviews of this place on YouTube and Google but it is totally safe, professionally done and while crowded it did not feel chaotic.

Do/remember the following for a smooth experience.
1. Stand in line at least 30 minutes or earlier before the show starts (we were in line at 1715 for 1800 show)

2. The ticket counter opened at 1730. The girl at the counter understands English and gave us a number (8). I stood near the entrance with the number while my partner paid for the entrance and photos at the counter.(pay the extra charge for photography, it is worth it). Do not forget to get a Yellow card that means you have paid for the photography.

3. Lots of people line up at the gate thinking they will get in first to grab the best seats but you cannot go inside until the staff call your number. You can be first in the line but if your number is after 1, you cannot go in first!

4. Once inside, grab the best seats and enjoy a great show!

A perfect place to get to understand Mongolian culture (including dance, music, arts, religion, lifestyle, ....) within a fantastic 70-minutes show. All the performers are so professional, and the smiles on their face are so genuinic, the music and songs may touching our hearts. It’s truly a fabulous performance, highly recommended for everyone who visit Ulaanbaatar.

Really really enjoyed this
The dancing, stunning, instrumental, acrobat
Costumes and setting

Where it let itself down was
- felt a couple of the dance routines had been too jazzed up/couple my lifted background to be authentic, and
- really didn't like the melody of western tunes. Completely unnecessary

After visiting the National museum in UB and the Gandang temple you’ll see more or less a little bit of historical perspective about Mongolia. And seeing the dances here made me impressed with the religious tools and the costume in the museums and in the temples are actively live in front of you. Even I cannot tell the detailed meanings but it is really interesting to see them active. Also the throat singing is notable. Although through the microphone in some pieces it is quite amazing to here it live voice. One of unforgetable night in Mongolia.

The show show features traditional singers, dancers and a contortionist. Though I strongly suspect the music and some dancing has been updated for a 21st century crowd, the show was very enjoyable. The throat singing was remarkable!

This was a very eclectic performance of music and dance. Music included instrumental as well as vocal. Traditional forms of both were performed with excellence.
