From the top you get great views of UB and the mountains. Well worth the walk up the stairs. The murals show important events in Mongolian / Soviet history. At the top they sell souvenirs. You can also get your photo taken with an eagle.

The views alone make it worth the steps, and there are plenty if them. An insight into the Russian years at the monument with fantastic views of the city and riverside. Do this then the Buddha statue which is close by. If there is even...More

Along the way to Chinggis Khan Memorial Statue. Get a good bird’s eye view of Ulaanbator city. A bit of a climb up to the top.

A pretty good view but to be honest what you can see is not a very attractive part of Ulaanbaatar. It is also in a bad state of disrepair so it's kind of a let down after having walked to the top.

I went on a rainy day so the view was limited. I didn't like the addition of the kiddie ride right in front of the monument. It detracted from the experience.

Yes, take a bus #7 or any bus destination says to Zaisan then hop on it. Fee is 500mnt which 25 cents. Other option is walking to there is 20minutes from downtown.
