All reviews great view of the city worth the climb russian soldiers vantage point murals depicting soviet era ub city eye view small hill buddha statue world war ii nice walk worth the effort nice place to visit during summer take pictures ulaan baatar
To the south of Ulaanbaatar is a hill with a great view over the Tuul river, the surrounding green hills and the sprawling city with more and more highrise buildings. Several steps lead straight up in a direct line to the top of this hill,...More
I went there the hard way, by walking up the 600+ steps. You can take a shortcut through the adjacent business and shopping centre. From this vantage point, you can see the comparison between modern UB and the majority of the city, the poor ger...More
Well worth a visit. It's a lot of stairs, so try to drive up if you are unfit, the last bit is stairs only so no wheelchair access.

From the top you get great views of UB and the mountains. Well worth the walk up the stairs.
The murals show important events in Mongolian / Soviet history.
At the top they sell souvenirs. You can also get your photo taken with an eagle.
The views alone make it worth the steps, and there are plenty if them. An insight into the Russian years at the monument with fantastic views of the city and riverside. Do this then the Buddha statue which is close by. If there is even...More
