It's part of the strip that contains the Independence monument. It's certainly pretty during the evening with the lights shining around the city, but it's not a very accessible area given the amount of traffic around it. I wouldn't go here for the statue but rather the opportunity to walk around a bit without the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh streets. Although in my opinion Wat Phnom or Riverside have more accessible walking areas.

An imposing and elaborate monument to King Norodom Sihanouk in a central square in Phnom Penh. The monument stands at one end of the park while at the other end stands a monument celebrating Cambodian independence.

If you didn't have enough time for visiting famous Phnom Penh touristy area like Tuol Sleng or Killing Museum, maybe this landscape are quite good for stop. Just walk around the Royal Palace to Preach Suramit Blvd and you can found this vast park with some trees and this statue in the middle. Better if you get here in the aftrenoon or night time b'cos it's really hot in the day time.

The park stretching between this statue and Independence Monument is a great place to take a stroll and take in the mansions on the north side of the boulevard and all of the new skyscrapers along the riverfront in Phnom Penh.

Nice place to visit in the city centre with beautiful parklands and shady trees. The monument is built on grand scale and takes pride of place with long pathways leading from front and back. Little birds have taken up residence in the pagoda and regularly land on the kings head.

A nice monument and some great green space and walking paths. There are some great views of the city from here. Worth visiting in the early evening when the sun is going down or has gone down and the temperatures have dropped. A nice place to take a walk or relax a little.

I am pleased to see those who visit this monument show respect for this past leader. They DO NOT just dump their garbage on or around this monument. I wish they would respect all other areas of Cambodia.

Very accessible and in the middle of the center. It was very easy to identify and also a great meeting place for friends when you are traveling. A great photo background as well and it is free plus very historical and educational.
