We stopped at the monument on a tuk tuk ride. Our guide said the monument cost $1 million to build. Nice area. The North Korean consulate is across the street.

I walked by this and the independence monument a few times traveling to and from my hotel. Nice open space, but it is also a large traffic circle, so it can get noisy.

This statue is iconic in Phnom Penh and close to the Independence Monument. Plan to do both together and careful with the traffic.

The statue here is nice. It’s in a nice garden too. Well worth a wander if you are walking around Phnôm Penh.

Nice memorial, but not worth the time and traffic to go see. The plaza is usually crowded and getting a good picture can be tough.

The best way to see PP is by walking - and this statue should form part of your tour. Crossing the road in PP is a bit of a leap of faith but trust us, we never saw anyone get run over! When you do,...More
