The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda give a view into the past of Cambodia. Many beautiful buildings and historical relics. The cast iron pavillion build by the French is unique. You can see many treasures of royal regalia from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Silver Pagoda is located on the south side of the Royal palace. It is the home of the emerald-crystal Buddha. Make sure you check out the floor, which is covered with 5 tonnes of silver. You can not take pictures inside and must remove your footwear before entering. Your back, shoulders and knees must be covered to enter.
There is other much more impressive pagodas around SE Asia to see but still a great place to visit if you have the time.

It’s a piece of excess...Italian Marble, solid gold statues encrusted with precious jewels . ...and a floor made out of silver tiles. All a bit OTT but magnificent all the same.
It’s part of the Royal Palace compound which is a must see in Phnom Penh.

This was an ok visit but not as special as I thought it was going to be.
Looks great from the outside, however, much of the silver tiled floor which gave the pagoda it's name, is now away so just a small corner to see. There is an Emerald Buddha inside (actually made of jade) that is worth seeing but overall a little disappointing and was very crowded so was rushed along.
There is a strict no photographs policy inside too which is a shame as I see no harm in taking a picture with no flash - which is the default for virtually every smartphone snap.

We went here as part of our Royal Palace tour. The floor is made of silver plates but most of it is covered by carpet. The alter and the amazing amount of different Buddhas in various poses was something to see.

The Silver Pagoda & the Royal Palace are located within The Royal Palace Complex.
The entrance to both these structures are inside Gate 3 that is protected by armed guards & the public or tourists do not get in.
The tours go in at Gate 1 & what you see is still very spectacular much like what The Grand Palace is in Bangkok looks like but only bigger.

This is part of the Royal Palace, the sanctuary in the crazy city.
Please wear a hat and covers shoulders and knees. Socks too as one takes ones shoes off....
The floor in here is made of silver tiles - what an expense!
Again, lovely planting here and the peace away from the traffic, is lovely.

We visited as part of the Palace tour. Building looks more impressive outside than inside. Much is made of the silver floor, most of which is covered. Nice model of the Angkor Wat Temple in the grounds.

Located inside Royal Palace grounds. Nice piece of architecture. We had a hard time finding it at first because it was on the other side of the grounds. There is a miniature replica of Angkor Wat nearby. Had a vendor sell ice cream and water in the courtyard.

The Silver Pagoda (also known as Wat Preah Keo) is a very beautiful religious pagoda. It has a different structure than the pagodas I am accustomed to seeing in China, which tend to look somewhat like ornate towers, which are exceptionally beautiful when lit up at night. The Silver Pagoda was first built in 1892 and rebuilt in 1962. The pagoda likely gets its name partially because its floor is inlaid with over 5,000 silver tiles, weighing five tons. There are beautiful murals which tell of past stories/events. The inside is a like a museum collection of national treasures.
