Tours of modern architecture in Cambodia.

Our various tours focus on buildings erected after Cambodia's independence in 1953, a style described as 'New Khmer Architecture', while setting these within the historical context of Phnom Penh.

Regular tours take place on the second and fourth weekend of each month, guided by Cambodian architects and students. Custom tours can be arranged and can be given in Khmer, French or Chinese upon request.

Our guide Virak gave us a lot of interesting information and we visited a lot of interesting old buildings related with the religion. We got to see this amazing buildings which are in... More

My husband and I were given an architecture tour in Phnom Penh as a Christmas present. Just the two of us with one architecture graduate, who spoke excellent English and took us round the architectural highlights of the capital from the 1960s and 1970s. And answered all the questions we bombarded him with, giving us new insights into both the... More

I went on the central Phnom Penh Cyclo your today. Our guide Virakwas wonderful. I learnt so much about the history of the city and the buildings and also the people. His knowledge was wonderful and he communicated it wonderfully. There was so much respect paid to communities we visited.Travelling by cyclo was quite special. This will be the highlight... More

Booking for this tour was easy to do in advance before we arrived. Our guide Virak was charming, funny and very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot and saw places we would never have found on our own. The history and architecture of Phnom Penh is fascinating and Virak made it come alive for us. Then there are the cyclos... More

We had a truly brilliant time on the tour. Sokly was such a good guide - knowledgeable, engaging, funny and intelligent. I had some previous knowledge of the buildings and how to navigate the sights myself but I wanted to show my partner the buildings in a limited amount if time without the stress of getting lost and at the... I did the 3-hour 1960s New Khmer Architecture tour. We started with the 100 Houses Social Housing Project, followed by Institute of Foreign Languages at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), and finally, the National Sports Complex. We went into one of the abandoned houses at the 100 Houses Social Housing Project. At the RUPP, we couldn't enter the... More

Lyna is a very good guide with very good English and passion to what she does. Therefore the tour was interesting to listen, to observe and it provided a lot of interesting information that tourist usually do not have. However, this tour is for those who ARE interested in architecture, culture of the country, facts and history of architecture in... More

I did a private half day tour. I wish I had done this on my first day in PP. Really informative and interesting. My guide was extremely knowledgable and interesting. Cyclo is a great way to see the city and provides the drivers with a livelihood.

I'm guessing the other tours on offer may be different, but i went on the Front du Bassac, the Chaktomuk Theatre and White Building tour. We started at the conference hall which was great, a good background was given but then we were told we couldn't go in. Considering this is an architecture tour that was pretty disappointing, so we... More

We took the self guided walk around the older buildings in Phnom Penh. Downloaded the map from the net and left our hotel about 9am. Without the map the older buildings would be hard.to recognise. With the map.it is a breeze and the information provided With the map gives adequate detail to understand the age and type.of building. As there... More
