Baitul Mukarram continues to be amazing since it was built decades ago during my boyhood. Located at the city center, it is the biggest mosque of the city which also houses a sprawling shopping center. I remember buying my first wrist watch from there. With traffic increasing year after year, some people living far do not go there anymore, but the icon still holds its pride and charm.

Although this mosque is not really historic, it's size and central location demand attention. It's quite different on both sides so make sure you walk through the mosque and visit both aspects.

Huge Mosque and a must visit city attraction. At its periphery it boasts old traditional bazaars where one can buy traditional perfumes, and lots of souvenirs at good bargain.

On my first glance, I did not realise this masjid to be a proper mosque on account of its fabulous architecture, but when I entered the campus, I was more fascinated. Some local people told me that it was a very holy shrine of the people of Dhaka.

Huge mosque located in central Dhaka. It is next to the General Post Office so finding this place is not a problem.

Outside there are stalls selling religious books and artifacts. People are very friendly and helpful. I had the chance to perform my Zuhr prayers here and the experience was amazing.
