The outsides look quite unique in pink but the experience was meh. Foreigners pay 500 taka to walk around and see relics of the family that lived there. Not top of my list.

This building is quite an eyeful with its striking bright pink exterior. I don't think I've ever seen such a large building painted so pink. Photos don't show how pink this building really is. Good place to meet locals.

beautiful building from outside, nice garden, but the interior is not well kept. it gives an idea of standard of living at that time from wealthy/ruling class.
Staff is very friendly. Beware however that over the week end you may need to queue long and they close it at lunch time and reopen at 3

An Architectural Beauty of Ahsan Manzil
Ahsan Manzil stands as an architectural beauty of Dhaka. It was a symbol of luxury, beauty, influence, and aristocracy. It is wondering to know that Ahsan Manzil was the first building to have electricity. There are beautiful things to see inside and outside Ahsan Manzil. To get more information about this experience, follow a traveling bd.

This is a National Heritage.
A wonderful collection of historic memories.
Thank you for preserving this but a lot needs to be done to make it an attraction.
Absolutely no maintenance resulting in piles of dust dirt and debris.
The garden can be made more attractive by a tiny effort at gardening.
Highly recommend a visit.

You will go into see a lot of historical artefacts, but you will instead be thronged by hawkers, beggers and scammers. The place is beautiful however not well maintained at all. There's a scarcity of artefacts and the history behind them as well.

Ahsan Manzil is a palace located in Dhaka. It was formerly the residence and seat of the Nawab of Dhaka. Entry fees is 500 taka for foreigners. Beautiful pink construction. Many halls filled with photos of rural, poets, Nawabs, utensils used, the way they live, dining halls and much more. Need to read more about history of Bangladesh.

As with most sites in Bangladesh, this palace is not in the best state of preservation. Having said that, it makes a quite striking appearance. The interiors are interesting though they need a lot of work. The palace gives you quite possibly the best idea of what life was like in Dhaka many years ago. The grounds are strewn with garbage so walk carefully.

It is true to be named as best house. It is one of the rare excellent architectural buildings in the area. History again talks to you while exploring how were the inhabitants living their live there.

Ahsan Manzil was the official residential palace and seat of the Dhaka Nawab Family. This magnificent building is situated at Kumartoli along the banks of the Buriganga River in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The construction of this palace was started in 1859 and was completed in 1872. It was constructed in the Indo-Saracenic Revival architecture. It has been designated as a national museum.
