We were only allowed to see the outside of the mosque but enjoyed my time at this beautiful location. I learnt a lot about the history from our guide who was kind enough to inform us about it. A must visit to all tourists...it’s indeed beautiful. Go in the daytime!

Named after the former president, this Mosque is popular among tourists. Though a bit far from the city center that you need to ask your tour operator to bring you here, it is an architectural marvel especially at night when illuminated with floodlights.

Using the phone App BOLT, I paid 5 manat and went to the Heydar Mosque. It is very beautiful and I recommend everyone to take the time to visit it. Avoid the expensive and overrated BS tours and save money by going there by yourselves and by your own means. God is great!

If you want to see the interior, you need to go during the day but then you miss the gorgeously uplit and sublime extior. Don't go to the back side: it's not special and dangerous walking there. Uber from city center 3 Euro
