The place is still standing high, physically and geographically at the top. I had been there at that place three years ago. I found it last time and this time remain great with many visitors.

Bibi-Heybat Mosque includes the tomb of Ukeyma Khanum (a descendant of Muhammad), and today is the spiritual center for the Muslims of the region and one of the major monuments of Islamic architecture in Azerbaijan.

The mosque overlooks the Caspian sea. It is beautifully designed, and the location is pretty nice. It is not a really big mosque, but it looks great.

Beautiful mosque of a descendant of the Holy prophet, peace be upon him. Prayers were really good there - slow and deep. Everyone shakes hand with everyone else praying at the end of the service , rather than just the people next to you, which i found was very nice.

The interior (no shorts!) is a bit kitschy but the interior is "clean". Good strange views over the ugly sea.

This mosque is in a beautiful location overlooking the Caspian Sea (and docks) just south of Baku on the main road. Please remember that shorts (for both male and female) are not acceptable attire and that women must have a scarf to cover their heads, although the mosque will provide one.
Inside the mosque, the green-ness of the ceiling dominates and delights. There is a central area including the tomb of a descendant of Mohammed. The mosque was originally built in the 13th century but was destroyed by the Bolsheviks and was reconstructed in the 1990s. Alexander Dumas had visited the mosque.
