The complex itself is less than a hour’s drive from Baku, and includes three separate museums. One is the Ethnographic Museum a kind of open air museum, the second is a Museum of Antiques, and the third is Castle Museum.
Based on our tour guide recommendations we visited only the Ethnographic Museum.Entry fee just for this museum is 10 Manat. The place is quite good organized and allows to the visitors seeing different layers of how rural Azerbaijan people lived in past. You’ll need to see all about 30-40 minutes.
Near the complex is a unique art museum who probably is not belonging to the complex but just to see this museum ,is worth coming here. The entry to this wonderful museum is free of charge. The museum has two floors where artworks made of recycled materials are displayed.(see below)

This was a last minute surprise local guests took us to. It had and interesting antique museum that had large Samovar collection. We went and we're only ones there so lights weren't turned on, but very interesting. Had some carriages, older belt ware, coins etc. the next site was the archeology site of old settlement, that's another ticket. Was interesting and fun to walk through and see the mix of site plus restoration, displays of life in settlement. Also had some animals there's and camels. Third attraction was a small castle to go in, walk up to top wall and view small village from high ground. Happy I went, but if you are limited on time it takes about 45 minutes from old city and might not be everyone's cup of tea. Interesting, but not a must if time is limited

A place which was very hard to access. The only interesting things were the museums, but you can find many of them in Baku. If you go on a cold day it might be fine but going to out of city attractions is not advisable on hot days.

As a fan of historical places I liked it, any way it was not interesting for my family.
The place is well organized and have some interesting stuff .
Any way it is better to come here by a taxi and keep the car waiting since it is a bit long distance from the main road to the site gate (at least the gate we used to get in)

The heat was a bit harsh, and the animals in the back are taken well care of. The artifacts is damaged by the sun - can be more well protected.

We stopped here as part of a tour. It was okay. We went through one of the towers. There's a bit of history, but I found it underwhelming. The museum had some beautiful pieces, but I could have lived without going here.

This is a weird place - everything is re-created and a replica apart from a few real things in a tiny museum.

It is a reasonably large site, well laid out and maintained, with "fake" petroglyphs in the gardens, couple of buildings whose interiors represent how the people used to live and then some animals including rabbits, sheep, horses and about 10 camels in stables at the back.

I really didn't know what to make of this place. Not sure I can recommend it.

3 museums in one. We did not opt Archaeological and Ethnography Open Museum as our tour guide informed us that the nearby castle and the exhibition about semawar collection was a better choice. It was nice but not extraordinary.

make sure you take a guide who will explain all the details to you

it was interesting to know more about the culure and history of Azerbaijan

this place is good for children too - they keep animals such us camels, donkeys etc so children won't be bored

huge plus is that part if the museum is open-air and if the weather is nice it's great to spend a couple of hours there
