With great restaurants and shopping, Northern Avenue has always been a must visit location, in Yerevan. During the Christmas and New Years season, the area ramps it up a notch.

Try much as I do, I cannot find anything particularily attractive about Northern Avenue.
It is way to broad for a walking street, offers no shade in the summer (the bonzai-connifer tree stand-ins hardly cast any), nor shelter in the winter, and fairly few spots...More
This street or avenue could remind someone a New York, because of the buildings styles. Though they are not that tall, actually they are not high at all, as the whole capital is - it mostly consists out of old small buildings.
