And Colombian sculptor Fernando Botero (Medellín, *1932) arrived in Armenia! Besides being one of the most acclaimed living sculptors (and painters) of the whole world, Fernando Botero created his very own particular style, the so called "Boterismo", which depicts people, animals and figures in large and exaggerated volumes. The "Roman Warrior" is a fantastic example of his style. This bronze statue dates from 1986 and is sided, at the "Cafesjian Sculpture Garden", by two other works also by him, the "Cat" and the "Smoking Woman". Take your time and stroll along this awesome park at Yerevan's "Cascade Complex"! Enjoy!

Another one of the beautifully constructed statues at the Cascade complex / Cafesjian Center. It is a statue of a chubby male holding an armor in his hand. It is another enormous statue and it's very hard to miss when visiting the complex.

This review is quite late. The Roman Warrior Statue is located in the Cascades Park. The huge statue attracts visitors for a quick photo shoot or video clip.

This statue is next to the thousand steps of the city of Yerevan, which can be seen at night with a very beautiful light.

I loved the sculpture park at the Base of the Cascades which is such a pretty and relaxing place to spend some time .
There are so many pieces that I'd be surprised if there wasn't sonething for everyone and the tubby, squat Roman Soldier standing there in all his glory without a stitch of clothing on him made me smile. He and the woman smoking in the statue nearby would get on well! You'd know what I mean if you saw them!
A great place to visit, especially for families with kids.

Located among the statues near Cascade, this muscular warrior attracts more with his tiny phallus than with his muscular body. Holding a shield and spear, this warrior looks funny owing to his small phallus.

I rested at the garden here after visiting the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. During that time, I saw more people posing next to this sculpture than the rest of the sculptures around it.

I wondered why, perhaps due to its size, being nude, uniqueness? I enjoyed all Botero’s sculptures at this garden, especially this one.

It is interesting and funny. Maybe the body portions designed that way to highlight muscles? Don't know what the artist wants to tell us.
