This beautiful mosque is more impressive than the photos and is definitely worth a visit. Once you leave the busy streets, its a quiet place with some seating provided to sit and enjoy the garden. The Blue from which it takes its name is quite striking and there's a great supermarket across the road with a good wine shop :)

By entering the garden of the mosque you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and chill and relax .
We found the garden particularly nice and also the exhibition of Iranian handicrafts ( Tabriz art university ) .

Kaboud Grand Mosque is a mosque for Shiites that was built in the 18th century. This place did not serve as a mosque during the Soviet era and became the history museum of Yerevan. But after the independence of Armenia, the mosque was rebuilt for the Iranian citizens with the support of the Iranian government and is now the only active mosque in Armenia.

It is small and a bit hidden, you have to first go throught a door and then you will reach a courtyard with peaceful garden and there it is the mosque. I took some pictures of it and relaxed for sometime in the garden which has benches. All was very empty and calm. Nearby is the ancient neighborhood Kond so you can connect a visit of both.

This is my first visit to a mosque. It was interesting and I enjoyed the beauty of the architecture. Yerevan is a great city to walk around and I combined a visit to this mosque with Pak Shuka located across the street. You tour the mosque yourself and there is a display near the entrance explaining the various room you see around the central courtyard.
