Yerevan Repulic Square - A must for all tourists to Yerevan. Come in the evening!
Lots of parking spaces, and the whole place looks different at night when the lights are on. The music dancing fountain is also a nice attraction, the blocks that is used from the volcanic material makes the building look pinkish / reddish. Lovely colors. Lots of food around the square although it is not cheap!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Christmas celebrations seemed to be in full swing when we visited this square in the center of Yerevan. A giant Christmas tree adorned the square center while carols could be heard throughout the night. A festive atmosphere indeed!

The Jewel of the Armenian Capital.
The spirit of Yerevan if not whole Armenia. The center of the Armenian capital where many local and international restaurants, cafes and shops located. The national museum is also located in it. Take walking tours at day and night to fully enjoy it.

Impressive square, even better @ nighttime!
We were staying nearby and decided that we needed to get a feel for Yerevan after our arrival....and wow this impressive square didn't disappoint! There was a celebration of some sort happening and all the locals were out as well as a lot of tourists such as ourselves. A must see in beautiful Yerevan.

Ok it's Yerevan's main and central square but there are not many things to do or see around... Especially during winter when the fountains are not operating.

We saw the lit up/ decorated for Christmas/ New Year.

It looked very pretty and the tree in the centre was beautiful.

The dancing fountains weren't on when we went, but it wasn't a let down.

I arrived in Yerevan, Armenia, two days after Azerbaijan attacked the Republic of Artsakh in a lightning surprise offensive. They subsequently agreed to disarm and a ceasefire took effect, after which Artsakh effectively became part of Azerbaijan.
The whole of Yerevan, but especially Republic Square became a hotbed for disgruntled Armenians who occupied it and demonstrated loudly. Lots of Police and Soldiers around to protect the seat of government.
Republic Square normally is a tourist destination, attracted by the dancing fountains and light-show. I was treated to a different scene.

This is a must while in the city of Yervan. Not only does it have history, it has a lot going on and is the center of Yervan. It has dancing fountains at night and bustling all day long. Very good place to get pictures.

The Republic Square is a delight and quite the highlight of Yerevan. There are lots of amazing eateries around this place, lot of history, the national gallery and the national museum are also something you can check out. If you're into stamp collection, you can find the Philately section of Hayastan Post here called Stamps of Armenia.

The dancing fountain exhibit at night is also a pleasure to watch. It's really heart warming to see people dance together with the music.
