The Hrazdan Gorge delimits central town on the West/SW., but is hardly visible and not so accessible. The southern end (nummerwise the beginning) of Mashtots Ave offers a good vantage point over the gorge and Victory Bridge, and a starting point for a walk through a portion of the gorge, To get there, follow Mashtots Ave to its start, preferably on the right (odd number) side. Take the underground passage by #3, continue straight and ignore branchings (that lead to exits in the other two corners of the junction) continues as a roofless passage that leads to yet another short tunnel (under Israelyan st) opening on an observation terrace, with fine viev of the gorge, Victory bridge, and, weather permitting, the Ararat. Most of the route is visible from this point. A paved path/flight of steps leads down & right, and over a water carrier, and and forms a T-junction with another path coming from Victory bridge (left). To the right & sloping down, the path leads to the old bridge. I'd guess that it is also possible to walk down to the stream, at the very bottom of the gorge but did not try myself.
The path meets the old bridge somewhat below the bridgehead. Look for a flight of stairs leading up to the causeway. Once there, the way up and to the road (Athens st.). Victory Bridge is some minutes away. The walk takes approx 1h.. All the paths are paved (though ot well kept). Hiking boots are not necessary.
