- viet1Nha Trang, Vietnam9,970 contributionsGood long beachMany say it is a dirty beach and not so nice. That is not the case. Is it the best beach, no it is not but it is pretty good. Believe it is about 6 km long and has a walking path at the top for most of the way. Plenty of restaurants and bars along the way with many having sun loungers for rent. Plenty of toilets and excercise areas with equipment. Great to watch the locals playing around in the early mornings.Visited April 2023Written 4 April 2023
- Don6 contributionsVery good vibe.I was there for five days in Sept and am going back next month. I get the feeling that the people who write some of these negative reviews own hotels in Vung Tau. The beach is clean. The water nice. Parks by the beach have women doing dancing exercises in the park. The mornings and evenings are full of families living life. Enjoyed eating fresh fish and drinking beer in restaurants by the sand and watching the young ladies all dressed up taking pictures of each other. They seem to take pride in their beach and activities and it is a focal point for them.Visited September 2022Written 14 April 2023
- Vera Paunova3 contributionsNice when cleanWhen I arrived the sea was really dirty. They must have cleaned after my first couple of days here and it became a totally different place, hopefully, it stays this way. It's a pity about the kind of tourists it attracts (I literally saw a Chinese man pissing in the middle of the beach and another one throw his wrapper in the water). Nice and pleasant beach when clean; I just wish the tourists who come here respected the sea (and the people around them) more.Visited July 2023Written 10 July 2023

The water, however, just looked dirty and not very inviting. We hired two sunbeds with towels for 100k and were left in relative peacefulness with the occasional seller.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 October 2023

A very good and beautiful beach, the water is warm, the weather is also good. Sometimes it gets a bit dirty but the water itself is very clean.

I am not a fan of Nha trang. Only reason I am here,is because my wife's family live in this god awful city.
Main beach is always covered in garbage . You can't swim without getting caught up in plastic, and if you do go to the beach, don't take anything, because , it won't be there when you come back. Many thieves operate here. Opportunistic and organized. Night time by the beach is by far the worst time for bag snatchers . The police will not help foreigners and are not interested in stopping crime. The roads are heavily congested and very dangerous.
If you can afford it,stay at one of the safe, secure private resorts. They are expensive and over rated, but at least you will be safe and hopefully not have anything stolen.
Nha Trang is not an enjoyable or hospitable place. The locals treat you as a walking ATM. They will cheat you constantly and laugh in your face.
Most of the street food will make you sick, as well as most of the cocktails from bars. Hygienic practices are non existent. Drink only bottled beverages.
I cannot recommend a visit to Nha Trang, let alone a holiday. It is not pleasant nor relaxing. You can't relax, because you are always on your guard.
Avoid this tourist trap. There is nothing in this dirty city worth visiting or seeing.

We were on our honeymoon when we visited the beach. It is called as the most relaxing beach in Vietnam and there is no doubt on that. Both of us enjoyed the entire tour and we got the ultimate relaxation here at Nha Trang beach.

Beautiful long stretch of white sand beach framed against tall buildings. It is beautiful no doubt, but its city setting makes me wish for something a little more remote.

It is the dirtiest beach I’ve seen in my entire life! Even saw a dead rat on the beach! It is not easy to get food and the drinks for tourists are usually sold at a different price! Unfortunately we have paid for a month and it’s non refundable otherwise it will leave today! Don’t recommend!

Good things -
- quite cheap- hotel, food, transport, packages. Good destination if you are planning for a visa hassle free and low budget trip.
- great coffee
- the city is natural beautiful and the air is fresh.
- Ba Ho Waterfall Hiking was amazing.
- Amazing Vinpearl Land, its kind'a Disney land.
- Clean city
Bad things -
- Our hand bag (with 2 iphone 14 pro max, money and keys) was stolen from the beach which was just by my side while I was sitting on the sand. This was an unfortunate experience. The city has hardly any CCTV and I felt too low security for tourists.
- Hardly found anyone speaking English or anything written in English. Police wasn't active enough to help us or talk to us in English.
- Hard to get good food.
- local people are not as generous as other SEA countries.
- island hopping packages were boring and not as expected.
- most streets has no traffic lights, so people need to cross road just with a prayer that no one hits :P
- should check out the cleanliness before eating sea foods from live fish shops. Unfortunately, we all got food poisoning.
- Hot & humid weather

How do beach lounge chair rentals work? Do most hotels have their own section of beach chairs for their hotel guests? Or are the chair rentals a separate entity?

Our hotel had loungers free of charge. Not sure if you can hire them.

Salve
Sarò fine anno in Vietnam. Ho molti dubbi sul clima a Nha Trang periodo di Natale. Ho letto ke dicembre non è buono con molte giornate di pioggia e temperature miti. Qualcuno ha informazioni, perché vorremmo fare mare.

Hello Lucia.
Normally, the beginning of December is rainy but the weather is very nice almost the end of Dec after Christmas. And of course Nha Trang is a beautiful beach in every season.
I think you should find an apartment with balcony to the sea to enjoy the seaview with a cup of coffee. Let’s contact me if you need an apartment with huge window to the sea
Thanks

Around the beach there are so many restaurants and you can buy fresh coconut. It's cheap, about 50,000 dong.
About 50,000 dong you can hire unbrella in the sailling club.

Hi lm planning to travel November 2018 just worried about the weather because we really love our beach time but read many reviews about rain nha trang

The beach in Nha Trang is long and beautiful! I went there in January and the weather was cool but sunny. If you check the monthly climate charts you'll see that November is the high rainy season in Nha Trang, so if you're going for a beach trip I would advise you to pick another time. January through August is the season for low rain in Nha Trang.
