The royal tombs are worth visiting while in Vietnam. Hue was once Vietnam’s Capital under the Nguyễn dynasty, and the information you pick up from visiting the royal tombs enriches your visit to Hue. The tomb of KhảiĐịnh (12th emperor of Vietnam) is the most...More

We hired motorbikes and toured the tombs independently. You can purchase a 2 day combo ticket Oct 2017 this was 280vnd for the citadel and 2 tombs, or 360vnd for the citadel and 3 tombs. These aren't widely advertised but we had no problems getting...More

For 260,000 dong ($11) you can buy at the Citadel a "4-site" ticket covering that and the 3 major royal tombs. But the tombs are not nearby--their sites were selected out in the country, with lots of space and even lakes. The driving is hair-raising...More

The royal tombs were an interesting stop. I loved all the little statues. We were told that the king wasn’t buried there. They hired criminals to bury the king and once he was buried, they killed criminals so no one ever could find the body...More

It is on the banks of the Perfume River. This is one of many Imperial Thoms of the emperors of the Nguyen dynasty. It is beautiful structures and a good insight into the history of the Vietnamese dynasties.

Even we had bad luck with pouring rain, it was a impressive visit. I just can recommend to book a private guide as we did. Its cheap and you can individually execute your tour depending on your personal interest. Old architecture with large gardens and...More

We were taken to two of the Royal Tombs, both quite different in their structure, the tombs of 2nd and 12th. Amazing buildings, grounds and scenery a must to visit another slice of Vietnamese history which is great to explore.

This is a must see if you are in Hue. You will need a guide so that you can fully appreciate the history. There are a variety of tombs and monuments. Go either early or late in the day as it gets very hot.

I recommend that you hire a taxi for half a day to visit 2 or 3 tombs. There are seven royal tombs. If you wish to visit more than three tombs, you must do this one more time. Over 2 half days you can visit five or six... More

How long to spend in Hue? It depends on who you are and what you want to see. Many visitors spend only one day in Hue. For me, this is not enough. We had five days in Hue and we managed to see many places, but there were... More
