About
Possibly Hue’s most recognizable landmark, this pagoda contains numerous living and working buildings for its resident monks, a bell tower and a seven-tiered monument in front.

An area still used by Monks for prayer and worship, and there are some buildings that you are not permitted to enter. A very impressive site where in the middle is a garden of bonsai trees on tables. It is a very lovely area to walk through. The area is situated on top of a hill with views of the Perfume River.

A nice and famous pagoda in the region of Hue. Go behind the pagoda to learn more about the history of the place, namely the event of the 11th of June 1963.
Thus place os with a visit when in Hue, whether on a boat tour or with a car.

Well worth a visit . Combines nicely with Minh Mangs Mausoleum if you take the boat trip . Plan on about 1 hour for a visit .

A historic Buddhist temple that overlooks the Perfume River. It is one of the most iconic landmarks of Hue and a symbol of its cultural heritage. The pagoda features a seven-story octagonal tower, a large bell, and exquisite gardens.

Visiting Thien Mu Temple is one place travelers must see. Just seeing the beautiful trees, plants, flowers, ponds with Koi, gave me a sense of peace. Make sure to truly enjoy the landscape of this place. This site is well-maintained by the Buddhist monks. TMT was built in the year 1601. This place is rich in history. Having a knowledgeable guide will make your visit enjoyable and worthwhile. The blue car used by the Buddhist monk is on display. This monk burned himself to death due to discrimination against Buddhist. One piece of history worthy of knowing. The pagoda has 7 layers. The Bonsais adored and compliments the peacefulness of this site. Stroll along and don’t rush yourself when visiting. Capture the beauty this place has to offer, and breathe the fresh air☺️.

This gets an excellent rating due to its connection with Thich Quang Duc and his globally recognisable/historic event. This is a must see location. Go and find out the story behind the man. At the same time the grounds and buildings are worth a look as well.

Hué is a relatively uninteresting city, with a modern interior by European standards and side streets with traditional architecture. Its main attraction is the Citadel, which the locals don't know (it's not on a hill, as a citadel should be anyway, because there is no hill), but its name is Dai Noi. If you don't want to listen to the life journey of former emperors, don't hire a guide. This should be the afternoon program. Because buy a combined ticket that allows you to see another landmark in Hue:some pagodas and 7 Emperors' Tombs. Some of these are far from the city (Gia Long), some are quite simple (Duc Duc), and some of the others are organized by the offices. If you want to pay a lot, there is one (including the "dragon boat" trip, which means a dragon's head mounted on the front of a transparent motor boat and a boring boat ride on the wide river), or there is a cheaper one, with such interesting things as a tea tasting room and a foot bath. What I recommend: get a taxi driver at your hotel, he will have a program, guaranteed with several graves and others, pagodas, cemeteries, etc. Start a 4-5 hour program in the morning. And half price...

bien Cordialement

Well, Hue is seen as a budha land, so you can find a lot places to go. Besides Thien Mu pagoda, you can go to Hue imperial Citadel, Huyen Khong Son Thuong or Minh Mang tomb or Tu Duc Tomb if you are interested in kings's history

Except for flashlight photography you can take camera and camera bag along. Although you won't be able to click images within the temple.
Have a beautiful trip

Hi, I am thinking of visiting here as part of an organised trip. My friend is 72 and worried there are no handrails or assistance on and off the boats. I'm surprised it is described as difficult as it is a trip organised by Saga, so opinions welcomed please. Thank you in advance!

I would definitely give it a miss. It is not easy getting on and off the boats and not worth the risk of injury. There are some paved areas within the Pagoda gardens and other parts not. It can be difficult underfoot at times if your balance is not the greatest. There are many other sites in Vietnam much more interesting and much easier and safer to access. You would not want to be in hospital in Vietnam. It is a developing country. I work as a volunteer at the Hue College of Medicine & Pharmacy so have seen first hand the significant difference between their standard of care and that of the western world. Vietnam is a beautiful country with plenty of things to do and see so pick the safest options to have the most enjoyable experience possible.
