    traditional market in Hue
visited dong ba market on 4 September when i had my central vietnam trip last two weeks.after checked in,i walked to perfume river,a woman popped up,she asked me if i want to take a dragon boat to dong ba market, the price not cheap, after hard bargaining,i accepted it,cuz only me on the boat, and i usually love to enjoy the scene along the perfume river.actually it took around 30 minutes (though the woman said 1 hour), when the boat reached the shore. i went ashore, and walked to dong ba market.first,i saw a wet market outside dong ba market, vendors selling veggies, meat and fruits.i just have a look, didn’t buy anything, then walked straight to dong ba market,it is the same as other traditional market in vietnam, you can see clothes, snacks, souvenirs, everyday necessities. you can see also some gold shops and food stalls on the outside of dong ba market. if you want to buy something here, then bargaining skill is a must, thinking i still have chance to buy those stuffs in Da Nang, so i just walked around here for 10 minutes or more, then left.

    Local market
This is a big local market to sell everything, vegetables, clothes, toys, ornaments and so many! It’s a good place to buy souvenirs such as teas or dried fruits but bargaining is tough. There’s a food court and we had breakfast there. The lady kept serving the food which we didn’t order. You have to say no if you don’t want to because she will charge you. The lady charged us quite a lot for breakfast. There’s no menu and obvious she charges more for tourists. There’s a gigantic supermarket adjacent to, so it’s interesting to see the difference.

This market was just near the trang tien bridge. It's good place to see how the local trade their things.

Interesting market that is very local but might be a little intimidating for foreigners if travelling alone.

A visit to the Dong Ba Market is a fascinating insight into the Vietnamese way of life. The range of fresh foods and other products is extensive. If you can't find it at the markets then it just doesn't exist.

Located just over the bridge from the city centre the markets are easily accessible by foot.

Be prepared to be approached by almost every stall owner trying to sell you something. All very friendly, but still very persistent.

As soon as you cross the bridge locals will be selling fruit and vegetables immediately on your right. Continue walking along and there will be many stalls with fruit and veg. Eventually you can come across the covered market on the left where practically anything is sold. You can even change your foreign currency at the gold shops on the northern side of the market, next to Le Duan Road. WE stocked up on several fruits, my wife bought sandals and several ref magnets. You can easily spend two hours here browsing around.

Local food beyond my expectation. I've tried Banh Beo, Banh Cuon, Oc Hut, Salted coffee. So so so delicious and cheap as well. Will be back next time.

There is absolutely nothing of interest to a tourist here. It is so dark it is impossible to see inside. You are not left in peace for a second with all the vendors shouting and waving at you to check out their stuff.
