We had the best day with Tam! We started off the day by already being grateful for Tam's flexibility (we were so jet-lagged and needed to start the tour a little later than planned). He was incredibly kind and passionate about his country. We also appreciated his extensive historical knowledge- we learned a lot. Tam was willing to answer so many questions we had, and we really enjoyed spending the day with him.

We had a fantastic time with Tam. He took us on a private tour of HCMC and patiently waited while we looked at art and tried on dresses. He communicated with street vendors for us and we appreciated the local insights he provided, esp.on the type of salad locals eat in cinemas! We had dinner with him at Ngon, an amazing restaurant, where he explained what was on offer and what the different ingredients were. He also told us which region some of the dishes come from and recommended his favorite foods. We tried many new things, including lotus stem salad and were in foodie heaven! We left too full to try any of the cocktail bars Tam had suggested.

We would highly recommend Tam as a guide. He comes from the Mekong delta and we would have loved to have toured it with him but we didn't have enough time.Maybe next time....

We were only one week in Vietnam, next time we shall certainly go for three weeks at least. Vietnam is a beautiful country, the people are all smiling, helpful and friendly. You eat lovely fresh food, spicy and well prepared. Everybody is outside, there are thousands of motor-bikes on the streets, but we crossed without any problems: you just walk without hesitation, and the traffic goes around you, nobody will ever touch you: amazing! Everywhere you can see beautiful brides and photographers to take photos of her and her bride-groom!
I should like to travel from North (Hanoi) to South (Ho chi min town) by train, and get off the train from time to time to explore beautiful landscapes, walking... A dream. Vietnam
people have suffered so horribly during the war, but they still smile and are so friendly. They work hard and produce so much rice that they export a lot of it. I could write a lot more, you should go to Vietnam and discover all for yourself! Silke Klemm

Dear Gilisisas How are you? We are so glad to hear from you, especially your love for our country, Vietnam. Yes, it will be definitely amazing to travel in Vietnam from North to South because our sightseeing still remains untouched. our food is quite distinctive between regions plus local hospitality. We would love to make your dream come true by escorting you around the south & beyond. Hope to see you again! Be happy, cheers!

Tam is an excellent guide. I did a private shopping and food tour. He met me at my hotel lobby where we sat and reviewed the itinerary. He was great at adapting to my preferences. We had a delightful shopping experience. I was throughly stuffed after the food portion and very happy.

Alright -- a great tour guide not only knows the history and culture of a given area but also is able to communicate it effectively. And for me -- an outstanding guide is one who is adaptable and is able to modify the tour based on the needs and interests og the client. Given these qualifiers, is why I have rated Tam with five stars. He is smart. Articulate. Funny. And very flexible

I scheduled a private tour of HCMC a and the Mekong Delta with Tam. I appreciated that he answered my many emails in a timely manner and was very reassuring given this was my first trip to VN. On day 1 he met me at my hotel and we were off. Literally off on his motorbike to start the tour. That was awesome even though I held on tightly. LOL.

Tam constantly adjusted the schedule given my interests. And I really appreciated hisextensive knowledge of the culture. He even took time to have lunch with me and introduced me to a great vegetarian restaurant. Over lunch he gave me some new ideas to build on my journeys.

Day 2 was the Delta. Awesome experience. Lots of great pictures. Tam also made sure we stopped at a large Budhist temple on the way given my interest in meditation. And he offered many new suggestions for my further travels to Cambodia.

This young man is so resourceful and friendly. I strongly and whole heartedly recommend him to anyone Travelling to VN. Let me also tell you that he gives back to the community and leads various projects to assist others. One is spearheading an annual drive for school supplies. OUTSTANDING!

We need more Tams in the world!

I had an excellent day trip to Mekong with Tam. He was knowledgable, his English was good, a big step up from other tour guides I've met this trip and good company. He was keen to talk about all the aspects of Vietnamese life & passionate about the culture. He was generous in his advice about other places I am visiting with good advice on my self planned tour.
The trip to Mekong was a good experience, comfortable travel there & back with all the things promised and more. I am very pleased I travelled with Tam; at the end of this holiday I think I will look back and say this was a standout highlight.

We booked two tour packages with Tam who made our stay very enjoyable at HCM. Our tour of the Reunification Palace was very educational, too as he imparted bits and pieces of history in every room we went to. He also gave us very helpful tips on other places to visit. Our favorite part of our tour is the dinner cruise where Tam ordered us a very delicious six course set meal and a table with a great view as we cruised along Saigon River. I also like that he's very flexible and so we felt comfortable in altering our itinerary. Not only did we get to see the beautiful sights of HCM but we also made a friend in Tam.

One day to the Mekong is a compromise. It would take many days to explore properly.
Vietnam is very busy, but the way of life is relaxed. Tam does the Mekong tour with " chill " in mind. Lots of information on culture and scenic areas on the trip there in comfort. We managed a relaxed boat trip with local snacks. We then stepped down into a traditional local row boat and followed a narrow waterway through a farming community. We saw floating markets, toffee and rice wine making, and we're then encouraged to relax on day beds when we returned to the larger boat. We then cruised on new "coaster bikes" along the levee banks of an Mekong island. More local food for lunch. We will do a week on the next trip. Thank Tam.

With only less than a week in Vietnam and without wanting to travel too far away from Hochiminh City, I was lucky to have found Tam. In addition to being fluent in English, his rich knowledge in Vietnamese culture and what is trending in the city right now had offered me the most authentic and unique experience in the city. Tam showed me places that a typical tourist wouldn't have known existed: favorite local hangouts such as cafes filled with the artsy type, old Chinese temples shielded from big tours, and even cheap, mouth-watering local dishes that you would never be able to find yourself. So, if you are in HCMC for a short period of time and would like an authentic experience, Tam would be the perfect choice!

Hi John Thank you very much for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Saigon. We would love to take you to Mekong Delta next time. It would be fun to cycle in the countryside to see orchards, endless rice paddies especially friendly villagers. Hope to see you again soon! Take care!

We visited Ho Chi Minh City for only 3 days so time was precious. Consequently I organized a day trip to the Mekong Delta through Exotissimo.com recommended by our hotel prior to leaving Australia. There were four of us. To our delight we were greeted by Tam and his driver Wang at 8.00am in the foyer of our hotel. We travelled in the comfort of an air conditioned vehicle through the rice paddy fields whilst Tam described all facets of the countryside and the Vietnamese people. He was cheerful, with a wealth of knowledge and an absolute delight to listen to. We had a boat ride to one of the islands of Mekong Delta where we tasted Coconut Candy. A local café with honey tea and fresh fruit in the company of local musicians. A ride in a horse and cart through one of the villages to an awaiting gondola. We had a delightful luncheon at a local restaurant overlooking a pond covered in Lotus flowers. A safe trip back to our hotel with several recommendations from Tam for local restaurants.
Whilst returning to Ho Chi Minh city, Tam confirmed that he would be our guide again the following day to the Cu Chi Tunnels. We were thrilled.
Once again met in the foyer by Tam and Wang at 8.00 am, this time it was only two of us. Just as the day before, Tam was a wealth of knowledge. A wonderful guide to explain the horrific years of the Vietnam War. Encouraging to one who felt comfortable in venturing into the tunnels but understanding of the other who did not desire to do so.
I will be telling all my friends and family who wish to visit Vietnam of contact Tam of See-Vietnam. I wish him all the best.
