The Fine Arts Museum of Ho Chi Minh City is well worth a visit. It's one that grows on you as you go around. It has a long way to go to catch up with it's equivalent in Hanoi where the climate controls makes for...More

I think I enjoyed this exhibit more because of the beautiful old building it is housed in. Nice surrounding gardens and easy to get to from Ben Thannh Market area.

It is a series of 3 buildings with different exhibitions in each one. The main centre is not free but there are more exhibits. The building itself is not that well maintained but the artwork is very impressive. It gives you an idea of the...More

I visited after a tiring morning. Still I enjoyed the paintings, mostly about Vietnam's struggle for independence. But, the artifacts in Building 3, from 1st to 20th Century was my highlights.

Highly recommended. We are here twice. An oasis of calm amongst the chaos of the city. The art museum was closed but the cafe was worth the walk anyway.

The Fine Arts Museum is a MUST! An incredibly beautiful and historic building, showcasing the Vietnamese history and culture. Grand elegance, especially for an evening private event.

I think John P is correct: I remember that the museum closes for one hour around lunch time. In case you are there at that time, there are pleasant restaurants close by, from the simple but tasty food stalls inside Ben Thanh... More
