CULINARY TEMPTATIONS Dinning Came to our home the chef and his assistance prepared and cooked 8 course taster menu for 10 people which was freshly done and it was amazing, They arrived with all the food, along with their own pots and pans, all their own table wear all we supplied were the glasses, we sat back and enjoyed the evening with our friends. The quality was far better than meals I have had in restaurants and reasonably well priced. On a final note they even cleaned my kitchen and left in spotless.

My friends and I booked an afternoon cooking session with Chef Dung and it was the highlight of our visit to HCM City! I love Vietnamese food and thought I knew a lot about it. But the taste and quality of what we prepared was a truly pleasant surprise! So very good! Chef Dung is very generous of her time and knowledge and patient with us. Would love to return to learn more!

Oh, this was so much fun! My wife and I went on this visit during our cruise stopover and I am so glad we did. We learnt some history of the place, we prepared and cooked a meal and then had the delight of eating our masterpieces.....delicious. We made spring rolls (far easier than I imagined), Morning Glory (a type of river spinach) with pork and prawn, and a caramelised pork dish in a clay pot. There was a vegetarian in the group and they used a veggie alternative so don't miss out if thats your way. All in all a fabulous day and I can't rate it highly enough.

We were collected from a local tour operator and taken by taxi to look around the local produce market prior to cooking. We did the afternoon class so didn't actually buy any food - it was ready when we got there. We made 4 dishes as part of the introductory class. Miss Lan was a great tutor. She didn't speak much English but this didn't hinder the lesson plus we had a translator with us. The staff had a good sense of humour and we shared lots of laughs. The whole experience was interesting and fun and the food at the end was some of the best we'd had in Vietnam (if I do say so myself)! Great way to spend an afternoon away from the noisy streets. Well worth the money.

I wanted to do a cooking course while I was in Saigon but was very confused as to which I should pick, as there are so many to choose from. In the end I settled on Saigon Culinary Arts Centre and signed up for the Advanced course. I have never cooked Vietnamese before but am very comfortable in the kitchen and was pleased with my decision - in the end there were around 6 people doing the regular class and only myself and 1 other last minute customer doing the Advanced so we got a much more personalised class. Techniques would only be hard for people who never cook at home so don't think you need to be an expert Vietnamese chef; you don't.

The day started at the market which was very handy for anyone wanting to replicate the dishes at home, then we all got in a minibus to the Centre. We had a brief introduction to Vietnames food and the legends behind certain implements and then it was straight upstairs to the classroom. The teaching chefs were all really friendly and helpful (as so many people in Vietnam seem to be) and we tried all kind of things including how to make rice paper (total disaster but nice to know how it's done!) My husband arrived for the end of the class to take photos and sample the food and they were very accommodating.

I think you get a great sense of a country from its food, and especially its street food, but if you feel as if you don't want to explore the back alleys of Saigon then perhaps a course here is the next best thing!

**TIP**
When you're at the market, if the chef is buying anything packaged that you can't get at home, buy one too - the price will often be better for the chef than it would be for you if you came alone, and you can be sure you are getting the right thing, however your dish eventually turns out!

A terrific experience this for all the family. I went with my wife and two kids aged 12 and 13. They activity starts with a trip around the local market looking at and learning about local produce and delicacies and buying the ingredients for the meal we would cook. Then to the restaurant where we taken through step by step the preparation and cooking of our 3 course lunch. Learning how to cook these dishes was great as of course was eating them. the kids who arent very adventurous eaters also enjoyed the food. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Loved it!

Had a brilliant afternoon with my husband and our 2 children aged 6 and 10. Wonderful market tour and culinary lesson enabling the children to get involved in making the dishes. The food was amazing and left with certificates, a recipe book and the children received piggy banks as well. Great group of people there and all staff were very warm, welcoming and keen to help and provide advice and information where appropriate.

We've attended a number of cooking classes here in the US and abroad and felt this one was great as it was a bit more advanced. We learned some knife skills and techniques including making flowers from vegetables which were fun. Our trip to the market was very helpful to learn about what to look for when we return to the US. The recipes were a little more involved by easy to follow and the results were great! I particularly enjoyed making a consistently sized spring roll.

Our teacher was pretty well-paced and I really liked how he organized the class. We prepared all our dished and then ate together as a group enjoying all of them instead of eating as each dish was prepared.

The recipes that we came home with are clearly written and we can now cook authentic Vietnamese food for our friends!
