Just another crazy chaotic street within HCMC, however, it has its attraction, there is a lovely park, and the home of Taka plaza, for copy shopping, and a very sanitised food court, definitely worth a walk.

This is the equivalent of Khaosan Road in Ho Chi Minh City. Pham Ngu Lao Street is a vast collection of hostels, travel agencies, touristy restaurants as well as shops mainly catering to the backpacker community in Saigon. It is not a tourist attraction by itself and does not really offer something interesting or remarkable.

I ve been there many times, and its always nice around there, its like the former Khao-San Road of HCMC!
You have plenty of restaurants, bars agencys to plan further trips, and nightclubs to hang out in the evening. You also find a Motorbikedealer to sell you one, or rent you one.
Like to come back again !

Often called, “Backpacker Street”, it was located close to Bui Vien Walking Street. I walked around here briefly after I escorted my friend back to her home.

At noon, I was looking for a restaurant for lunch.
While walking, I stopped on a corner in a large bar because the place was very quiet.
At one point I looked up and saw that I was at the entrance to Pham Ngu Lao Street (Walking Street). Amazing the difference between day and night.
During the day people are calm and kind.
The waiters in the cafes and restaurant are respectful ...
But unfortunately, I visited this street the night before.
And there it’s completely different!
I have done a lot of "Walking Street" in Asia and this one is the worst during the night.
The Vietnamese workers are not friendly, no smiles or kindness and no desire to satisfy the customer.
You just have to sell alcohol very quickly and make people drunk.
Like this, they are ready for scams and other traps.
This street is very unpleasant except at the end where there are fewer people.
And watch out for phone theft and pickpocketing overnight.
Very common and no police or security.

Yes it is noisy and lots of peoples but lots of fun and can navigate Easy here. Plenty of nightlife and good restaurants at reasonable prices.there are a few good small alleys to walk down with some of my favorite restaurants. This is a wonderful city to visit with nice folks to share time with.

This is the street where all the backpackers started staying about 30 years ago and now there are many guest houses, travel agents, and restaurants. Opposite is a park, the only green area near here. There are street vendors selling Bahn Mi and many other snacks. Not as lively as Khao San Road at night as most head to Bui Vien Street

It's easy to access. Not a long street, but already include the local food stores, bars and message shop.

First time going to Pham Ngu Lao Street by night since we went to Bui Vien. It was late that night and while we were on Pham Ngu Lao, our friends took us to their house where mist of their neighbors are on AirB&B
