I was sceptical about this show. Anyway it is fun to watch the cute puppets with different themes. Many activities outside the theatre.

As a English speaking tourist it was tricky to understand all the traditional story’s being told. I still felt captivated and really enjoyed the show. I realise this may not be for everyone, It was only 100k each adult it wouldn’t hurt to give it...More

Read about water puppetry being a staple of Vietnamese traditional art. This theater puts on a great production. The accompanying live music is very nice. The water puppetry is masterful, enchanting, and really enjoyable. Note: very minimal translations, but you don't really need them.

This is a fun thing to do, it has a cultural significance. It is impressive to see how they manage to move these puppets. Also, the music is very nice. Downside: the show is in Vietnamese so you don't understand a word they're saying. I...More

Nice 1h show, not a spectacle but one of the things you have to see while in Hanoi. Book ahead as the shows are always pretty packed.

Water puppets are peculiar to Vietnam and quite old--the presentations go back hundreds of years and represent many aspects of Vietnamese life and history. The show is played out in a pool of water, with the puppeteers hidden behind a screen. A traditional Vietnamese music...More

The show presents Vietnamese culture and old traditional tales. The live music with unique traditional instruments was amazing. Too bad that there is no English translation so we couldn't understand the stories. But even without translation, it was very impressive!

We booked our tickets at the theatre a few days in advance. Your allocated a seat so no need to turn up too early and queue. The show was fun, and traditional; no modern gimmicks. With live musicians and singers the show was excellent value....More

Hi, yes that's true, though it didn't seem to stop most of the audience. I think if you elect to pay the small fee (50,000vnd for still, more for video) you get preferential seating on front row.
