This was a fun way to spend an hour, but I wouldn't call it professional entertainment. There is interesting history behind these puppets and each vignette was based on some sort of Vietnamese history or tradition, so it was certainly worthwhile to see. The puppeteers work behind a curtain standing in the water and the wooden puppets are controlled by... More

I was amazed at this puppet. The craftsmanship of the puppets, the singers and the orchestra, the music and puppet players. Everything was awesome.. A must visit..

Unique puppet show which the puppets are not controlled by hanging strings but by the strings which pass through a control tube under the puppet body. The tube is under the water whole time and is not visible. Live music and fire works, completes the set for this unique show. As foreigners we did not understand the words (which were... More

Dont bother with over priced tickets from your hotel or on line. Get down to the theatre and buy them. Only 100000 dong. About 6 dollars AU. The only thing that is very anoying is that alot of the Asian tourists tend to film or photograph the entire show and dont care where they hold their phones to do it.

My partner and I went to this because everyone we spoke to said it was great. The first afternoon we went to buy a ticket for the 5.20 show, rocking up at about 5pm and couldn't get in to that show or the next, they were all booked out, we could only get in to the 8pm show. So we... More

Like a trip to the dentist, I only wanted this experience to be over with shortly after it began. First of all, most of what I could see from my seat was the back of the head of the man seated in front of me. Each puppet act was pretty much the same as the one preceding it- just different... More

Unfortunately we attended this showon our first night after a long flight. However the show was excellent and the people working the puppets are very clever. The puppets are in a pool of water. Great for the kids as well as adults. Easy to watch great show

Loved the musicians, the puppets and the stories. It was so refreshing and funny and the puppeteers were so talented. A great show to see in Hanoi and would definitely recommend it.

We went to the water puppet theatre as I didn't manage to do it last time I was in Vietnam. I don't know quite what I was expecting but I did think it was good. The singing was a little high pitched for my taste and I didn't understand the songs which was a shame as I am sure they... More

This is a lovely little show to see if you are interested in a little historic culture. I found the puppets a little erratic to watch splashing in the water but some of the stories were funny. It's very reasonably priced at just 100,000 dong. We couldn't get front row as many people on TA had suggested but 2nd row... More
