a good opportunity to walk with lake on bith sides, the area around the west lake is relatively quieter as compared to hoan kiem lake because of less tourists footfalls. also called ho tay, west lake houses the tran quoc pagaoda

Expecting a casual walk around a sludge-ridden lake, I was exceptionally excited to arrive with my poor defenseless boyfriend to a Swan boat-packed water's edge. I had managed to hide my romantic giddiness towards the clunky cliches for a year, but the jig was up....More

Highly recommendation for a cyclo tour around Hanoi. Enjoying the view from one of the nearby restaurant or coffee shops is also a nice choice.

Not well kept - rubbish in the Lake. Dead fishes left on the grass patch. . Nothing in comparison to the sword lake which is smaller but more charming. Not worth a visit.

There is a lot of activity around the Westlake. The lake is a good place to take a walk if you are staying in any of the hotels surrounding the lake.

For me, I prefer to rent a bike or take a cyclo(about 5 USD/ hour) to go around the lake. This season, the weather is good for walking as well. There is a nice flower market near by West Lake I've always loved to visit... More
