After all the hectic noise and traffic in Old Quarter, indulge yourself by heading over to West Lake, recline on the lounges, and watch the sunset over the lake and the City. It's a wonderful retreat when the noice gets overwhelming.

I visited today. There was nothing special nor worth visiting. There is a Chinese style temple beside the lake. Just took some picture and left. Less than 20 minutes.

It is one must-see in Hanoi. Everytime I come here, I feel very comfortable and relaxed. In the summer, it is cool and will help you out from terrible hot weather in the center of Hanoi.

It's a huge lake in the middle of Hanoi, a peaceful place with a few pagodas and temples scattered all around the lake.

Scruffy, urban and with a definite odour when we were there. Circular walk is interesting though for the experience and recommended if you happen to be in the area

For me, I prefer to rent a bike or take a cyclo(about 5 USD/ hour) to go around the lake. This season, the weather is good for walking as well. There is a nice flower market near by West Lake I've always loved to visit... More
