This is the only place in Hanoi that still give me calm everytime i get by. the water, the breeze, the smells of flowers. A remote place among one of the most busiest city in Vietnam

A good place for morning jog and evening walks. Also, a nice spot to polish your photography skills.

I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the old quarter in Hanoi and West Lake was the perfect escape.

Another of the picturesque lakes of Hanoi, this being the largest one. Pretty greenery all around and restaurants and concessions along the periphery. Lots of young grads out getting photos adds to it all.

Title pretty much covers it. It is just a big and slightly dirty lake just outside of the old quarter and presidential district. Not much to see except some rusty (really rusty) boats. Probably worth giving a miss.

A lot of activity with street shops and street food in the evening. Part of the street around the lake is closed to traffic in the evening

Didn't think much of the folk selling baby turtles so that you could throw them back into the lake..

This lake is pretty big. I really enjoyed walking around and seeing the side walk vendors as well as just getting out from the craziness of old town. It's quiet and not busy at all

West lake is in the heart of Hanoi and is the biggest lakes in Hanoi. Lots of restaurants around and shopping. Walking around or jogging the scene is just breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful. Find a beench sit and just enjoy the scenery.

We are here now and although the weather is a damper we enjoyed our walk here. We crossed the highland coffee and the pagoda also walked past the John Mc Cain memorial and liked that as well. Enjoy your walk here.

For me, I prefer to rent a bike or take a cyclo(about 5 USD/ hour) to go around the lake. This season, the weather is good for walking as well. There is a nice flower market near by West Lake I've always loved to visit... More
