As a combat veteran of the "Vietnam-American" war, I find these sites especially interesting. I also find it interesting that some reviews I have seen here and elsewhere seem to have a negative view of seeing this sort of thing. Vietnam did not attack the...More

The lake is now a small pond surrounded by chaotic constructions and with a piece of metal in the middle. Only go there if you're a VN vet.

I read previous reviews so was realistic about my expectations. Located in a residential area off the beaten track and amongst homes this place brings the war to the forefront of your mind. The crew who probably died and the people defending their city. The...More

You walk down proper vietnamese lanes to these two fishing lakes split by a little road. There is a monument to the Ha Noi air defence teams and the remains of the aircraft. Very low key and poignant

Very difficult to find once there not a lot to see. Very little description honestly I wouldn’t bother we were there literally 2 minutes.

I'm glad we've seen it, and it is striking within the pond it is in, however with nothing to read at the site it does leave it a little unexplained... I almost felt it was trying for simplistic, but instead seemed a bit neglected.

It was interesting to go by this place and see an old chunk of a B52. We stopped and had some coffee at the B52 Cafe which is located next to the “pond.” It had a lot of motorcycle traffic passing through, but it was...More

Some historical information about the war and what Vietnam has been through. Interesting to see. A little hard to find but my guide took me right there.

Interesting to visit. Of course, typical Communist propaganda one sided view in all descriptions. They don't mention that these B-52's severely bombed Hanoi to peace talks. The Communist could only put up with so many bombs. It took several bombing to convince the Communist.

Now generally known as B52 Lake, Huu Tiep is a tranquil, sleepy backwater. It’s a small lake, surrounded by traditional, French colonial houses and well worth a visit, as it really brings home the reality of war. The water is still and calm now, but...More

Hard to believe that wreckage of a downed aircraft has been left in a lake all these years, but it has! Definitely worth checking out! A great symbol of Vietnam’s victory in the war! Quite surreal as it’s amongst local housing and you have to...More

We visited this on the last day in Hanoi. I had looked for it earlier and failed to find it. I could be wrong but I thought previously the tail section was pointing out. In any case it was actually a very peaceful area (...More
