The Opera building stands out in the city of Hanoi and has all the resemblance of the Opera house of Paris. It is very well located in the center of the city and symbolizes the rich heritage of the city and its people.

I would highly reccomend catching a show here. If you can't there is a nice HIghland's Coffee next to it where you can enjoy and evening cup of average of coffee, But there is a great Jazz bar open daily behind the opera house which is well worth going to.

We only went to see the exterior of the building, we didn't see a show so this review may not give the full experience of the opera house. The building is impressive and a great photo spot - worth taking a walk to see it. As expected it's a touristy area, but other than the opera house there isn't loads... More

We came across this place during our free walking tour of the French Quarter. The opera house facade is impressive and elegant looking, a legacy from the French colonial days. Very busy area as it sits in front of a major intersection/crossroad so watch out for motorists/motorbikes. Great photo spot. Very popular with tourists and locals - when we were... More

The building has nice architecture design. I was kind of walking past and stopped to have a look. Wouldn't go out of my way to see the building. Hence if walking past good to get a pic and to tick off. I was tempted to get a ticket to watch a show; but wasn't sure if Opera would be for... More

One of most beautiful Hanoi edifices is certainly the Opera house, modeled after its famous Paris sister. It's not that ornate, but it stands out among others in Hanoi. We saw it at night, it was perfectly lit up and dominating the square and round about in front.

Lit at night this opera house looks so lovely .The building is well worth a look even if you are not able to attend a performance .Lucky enough to have visited the opera house in Saigon and were hoping to repeat the treat in Hanoi ,unfortunately we ran out of time ...next time perhaps?

I couldn't enter without a tour or ticket for a show so only saw the outside, which is a lovely old French influenced building at a roundabout.

I would say is not worthy the walk, not very impressive area, busy and nothing to see, I guess if you are going to go a show maybe it is worthy, only to see the building, do something else.
