This lake is a center of life in downtown Hanoi. There's plenty happening here all the time. It's especially nice on Saturday when they close the road around it to traffic. But it's fun to see all the activity on other days.

Our hotel was near, we liked to walk around the lake specialy on weekend because car et bike trafic is not allowed, just electriic cars for kids ! There is also bus station no 14 to go to museum of ethnologie.
Location of the lake is central of Hanoi, close to Old Quarter. In the morning or late afternoon was a great time to me when I was in the city. Went for a walk with trees, gardens and some symbolic buildings. But sometimes polluted.

And the Hoan Kiem Lake at night is beautiful. Would recommend booking a table at Cau Go restaurant on the outside terrace. Great food and an amazing view over the lake.
