A welcoming area of calm (and pedestrianised respite from the traffic) amongst the bustle of Hanoi's Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem lake can easily be walked around at your own pace. There are tai chi practitioners and couples taking wedding pictures by day, but the place...More

The lake is located in Hanoi's old quarter, filled with serenity, great place to have a meal in a restaurant overviewing the lake, to just sit by the lake and relax with a cold fresh coconut!

For a £1 each, go and learn the story of the lake and turtle, like King Arthur's sword, ladies cover your shoulders, if you forget, they will lend you something. Several shrines, locals feed and burn fake money to their gods.

The lake is centrally situated in old Hanoi. Any special celebrations and entertainment usually take place by the lake. There was a weekend of entertainment when I was there. It was fun.

This lake is located at the centre of the Old Quarter. Very nice and lovely. There is a small temple on the lake where you can come to visit. This is a nice place for sightseeing and relaxing.

There's a path which goes all the way around this lake so it's great for a stroll at any time. At night some of the large trees at the water's edge are lit up so it's very pretty. On the west side of the lake...More
