When visiting Hanoi it would be difficult not to walk around this lake. It is not too far and yet you see so many things while walking around. a must do.

Really beautiful at night. Many locals and foreigners are walking around the lake. Would have been romantic, but I was with another guy... Although not a bad bro date spot with the old quarter and bars nearby.

Hoan Kiem Lake is the lake in the center of Hanoi capital, Vietnam. All visitors go to there when they visit Hanoi. It is very beautiful and peaceful. You can walk around there, go to Hanoi old street quarter...

This attraction requires a small admission fee. We visited with a guide, which was great, as she was able to explain the history of the lake, temple and surrounds. The lake is very pretty, more so at night when is of the monuments and temples are nicely illuminated

An easy and pleasant walk around this lake in the old quarter. Google it to find out about the legend giving it its name. Recommend visiting this at the weekend (afternoons/evenings?) when traffic is banned on the road going all around the lake, making it a far more peaceful, pleasant and relaxed stroll. Buy an ice cream or a cup... More

Nice refreshing area to walk around. Take a break from the hussle and bustle of the traffic and streets. Great to walk around and plenty to see and plenty cafes and restaurants. Good photo opportunities.

The lake is a focal point for locals and tourists. The walk around it is nice and you get to see all sorts of activities, especially at dusk/night. An extraordinary thing happened to us as we were walking one evening; a group of local young people approached us. We were initially apprehensive as there were a few of them, but... More

If you have some spare time go sit on a bench around the lake and wait. Many young local students will approach you and ask if they may talk to you to improve their English. Well I had some time to kill one day and had a great time with this students.

I spent a lovely afternoon around the lake on a Sunday afternoon when no traffic is allowed. It was a welcome respite from the chaos that is Hanoi's traffic! The temple over the red bridge is well worth the entrance fee and I found many places just to sit and watch the world go by.

Day time it is the best place to walk in Hanoi. Because there is no motocycle neer the lake road. But at night it is better. Youcan feel the night view and the atmosphere. If you want or not you cannot visit this lake because it is located in the middle of city.
