Anchored by the Peace Memorial, these gardens offer 50 acres of trails, fields and gardens, including many flowers, trees and concrete sculptures. Two small lakes offer swan boats and fishing spots, and an island in the middle is popular for couples. There are trails for runners and cyclists, fields for sports, and ample opportunity for bird watching.

trecking across town to these 'gardens' was just not worth the effort. dingy little park with a skanky pond - where a few naughty locals are illegally fishing the deperate fish out of the pond ... really, save your time for something else. park poorly...More

This is not a botanical garden. It is a badly maintained park - no flowers, broken swings, closed planthouses, filthy toilets. A caged peacock and some caged monkeys in dirty surroundings with absolutely nothing to stimulate them. It is cruel.

The price to get in is tiny. By it offers quite an escape from the hum-drum of the city. There isn’t much of a botanical garden thing going on - not a lot of landscaping either. There are some small cages with animals in them...More

Paid to get in, the washrooms were locked. Nothing to see here folks...keep on going. There is a reason this is not a normal tourist stop. Short walk around the park and we were gone.

Lame and underwhelming. I can't see why anyone would go to the horrible managed/designed/mantained garden. They had swings that you can't swing on (theres a bar to stop you from swinging... why?). There was also this lone peacock held in a tiny cage which was...More

On the one hand it was nice to get away from the pollution. On the other there was not much to see and do in January. Not a great time of the year for any cold climate garden but it really did feel austere here....More

Monkeys trapped in a tiny enclosure, most painful thing to see in Vietnam. Would not recommend if you don’t want to spoil your mood. 😭

There are some caged monkeys which look like they're mistreated. Dirty cages and one locked in a toilet cubicle size cage and a peacock. Nothing really to see or do there. A few trees and a lake; which looked like it was fed with sewer...More

Not a very impressive botanical gardens. There are some monkeys, peacocks and doves locked up in cages that don’t look particularly happy. A lake in the middle that’s quite dirty and nothing too impressive about the gardens themselves. One plus side is it was empty...More

We stopped at the Botanical Gardens on our way back to our hotel from the Tran Quoc Pagoda. The entrance fee was very cheap - $2,000 VND. It is a nice peaceful park amid the chaos of the city. There were a number of Vietnamese...More

Dogs would have to be on a lead, I don't think there would be much of an issue though. Most dog owners walk the west lake but again, your dog would have to be on a lead. I haven't seen any area's in Hanoi where dogs can have... More
