While wandering the streets of Hanoi, came across this place mainly because of the fantastic propaganda posters on display. Ended up buying quite a few pieces, nicely wrapped up safely for the trip home.

I spent an hour or so looking at the fascinating vintage posters and chatting about education in Australia with the charming proprietors. I could certainly have spent longer though it was probably better I hadn't done so as I would have come away with many more posters than I did! The posters are beautifully made and very reasonable in cost. I wish I had waited until this destination to buy presents for colleagues as the small card size reproductions would have been perfect. I thoroughly recommend this lovely store, particularly if you have time to browse and chat.

We bought a few posters last time that we were in Hanoi and love them and is a great reminder of our trip to Vietnam.
This time there was some posters that were the same but some different ones, ended up buying another one as they are only around $7 so great value for money.
Even if you don’t buy anything the Posters are very interesting & available in a couple of sizes.

Stumbling upon this gallery store while exploring Old Quarters was a real treat. The wall to wall propaganda posters were a feast for the eyes and a great way to get a sense of a different era in this foreign place. I see the encouragement for change via revolution, I see celebration of their leader Ho Chi Minh, I get a glimpse of Vietnamese people at the time - rice farming, growing produce and starting their own chicken farms. Besides each poster, the message is translated into English.
I thought this was a great way to do storytelling, and a creative way to teach a piece of history to the visitors.

After such good reviews in TA I thought I would visit this gallery, it is not at no 42 Cau Go Street, so I presume it has moved or closed.

I haven't been there for six years or so (unlike the When did you visit box, below), but I was amazed by the shop's vintage, original "propaganda" posters (their words) and facsimiles for the former North Vietnamese cause. Many other cultural curios, too.

Using an hour to visit Hanoi gallery, you will understand more about Vietnam culture through many pictures. Although the price is quite high, they are very beautiful
