Noted this in guide book then stumbled across. Simply presented and gives and good impression of middle class living and of the 'tube' type of house. The craft shop on the ground floor has some unusual and classy lacquer ware and jewellery.

While I wouldn't make it the focus of my day it was an interesting walk round a nicely set out traditional house, Not much interpretation of what you are seeing but enough and it is not expensive. Drop in on the way past for a peaceful moment or two away from the bustle of the street

This is typical ancient Vietnamese house. The tour guide there will explain carefully about the architecture and lifestyle in the old time. The ticket is about 10.000VND.

A visit to this old house will provide wonderful insight into the way people lived when Hanoi was just a small town. A visitor can go into all of the rooms, furnished as they would have been hundreds of years ago and can imagine the everyday lives of its occupants. It is a nice contrast to visits to the larger,... right on one of the main streets in old quarter - this little gem give a nice view of how Vietnamese life in the city was like long ago - the house is beautifully restored and is a classic shop house with a central atrium.

An interesting place to visit but more interesting with a free Hanoi guide to explain the culture and the significance of different aspects of the house. Well worth the entrance fee.

If you have never been to a traditional Vietnamese Ancient house then I would highly recommend you pay this place a visit. It gives you a good idea of how the Vietnamese use to live and what it looks like in a traditional Vietnamese home. However if you have been to another one before somewhere else in Vietnam, it is...
