The Hoan Kiem Lake is a beautiful green lake with a peaceful environment. It is frequented not only by tourists but also the locals who simply loved being there to soak in the cool atmosphere. Along the lake is the Ngoc Son Temple, the Huc bridge and Temple of Literature where visitors never fail to have their pictures for memory.

A nice promenade for evening walk around the lake. You may or may not visit the temple, the lake and its surroundings itself make a good destination. It was a delightful time watching The central fountain and people around.

If you are heading in to the Water puppet theatre then you must check this out also. Love the fact they close off the streets to traffic from Friday evening to Sunday so it is a true walking street market with lots of food and drink options. definitely worth a visit whilst in Hanoi.

Walking around Hoan Kiem lake is sheer joy.. but the one thing that makes all the difference to the experience is the day and time of your visit. Weekends after sun down is when it is the best. Vehicular traffic isn’t allowed on weekends, so walking around is all the more relaxed and fun. The whole atmosphere is so festive and fun. Lot of places to eat, drink coffee & icecream. Adjoining street has the night market where you can be sure to pick up some good bargains.. souvenirs, clothes, bags!

Last week, we visited Hanoi and explored this bustling street. When I arrived on Saturday night, the street was packed with people. There were plenty of fascinating items for sales, but be sure to haggle, especially when purchasing souvenirs.

Hoan Kiem Walking Street was a highlight of my Hanoi trip. On weekends, the area becomes a lively pedestrian zone with street performers, food stalls, and games. The atmosphere is welcoming and full of energy, making it a must-visit spot. It's a great way to experience local culture without spending much.

I stayed by Hoan Kiem lake while in Hanoi so visited regularly. There's always lots of people taking photos, young children practicing their english with you. It's basically a nice quiet place away from the motorbikes and cars but close to the attractions.
