This house is very interesting. It is set up as it would have been originally. The house is long and narrow. It shows how the spaces were used. Downstairs would be a store behind which would be the production room. Behind that was the kitchen and toilet that were technically not part of the house. Upstairs is a shrine room and two bedrooms.

Walking around in the old quarter Hanoi we got attracted by the old house. We got inside to have a look and found a lacquer shop. We just wanted to look at the architecture but ended up buying some products. There are many unique products here and they are all beautiful. They are carefully made at the high quality. If you are looking for some high quality lacquered products. It is the place you can come and check. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. They could explain how their products made if you want to know as well. Great place! Highly recommend!

Very cheap site (£1 per person) to see a house in Hanoi which gives some idea of how it was in these “tube” houses. Charming people and great value little boutique shop. Easy to find and welcome respite from the heat and hubbub.

Nice to see an old building in a good condition with furniture. Gives you a feel of how life was for some people in Hanoi in the past.

If you are wandering around the Old Quarter, we suggest to stop and pop in this ancient house since it is worth a visit.
The house is a nice example of a Vietnamese merchant's house.
The entrance ticket is cheap and the house is located in the nice Ma May street with plenty of restaurants and shops

It’s a great generosity to share with us foreigners the way the Vietnamese lived and slept in the past. Visitors are given a guided tour inside this house with unique architecture, interesting details, authentic decor. I totally appreciate that all these are totally free of charge. The Vietnamese truly has a reason to be proud of their heritage.
