About
Every weekend, a section of Hanoi’s old town is closed to road traffic, and the streets come to life with stalls peddling clothes, footwear, sunglasses, souvenirs, and more. So put on your haggling hat, and come hungry, as delicious local delights and snacks are on offer. Cap off your evening at one of the adjacent bars, preferably one with a balcony overlooking the hustle and bustle below. Or wander the streets surrounding the market and make your way over to the always lively nightlife area of Ta Hien Street or Bia Hoi corner. – Tripadvisor

    Better options, higher prices.
The night market is a celebration of everything that Hanoi has to offer. It takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 8 pm to 11 pm. However, prices on Sunday are better than that on Sunday. However, the prices you get on normal days in shop are better and in fact, the night market prices were quoted on the higher side. You must bargain a lot and not hope for anything authentic.

Average market, enjoyable lake walk away from the stalls.
This was pretty convenient for shopping but only if you already want to buy things. Our teenagers were happy expanding their wardrobe at good prices. Agree with others it is repetitive and a few stalls close by the lake are probably enough before it's all the same. Best value is in keeping it short and finishing off with a beautiful walk around the lake where the vendors are gone and is filled with activities and shows instead, all free and family friendly. A completely different and relaxed vibe! We had also been warned about pick pockets and shady vendors in the market area. I got ripped off like others! Someone recommended have lots of small change and only give exact money and this is fantastic advice. Heaps of chancers around. Is extremely crowded at the market, mayhem in the streets where the traffic is blocked, but really joyful around the lake.

    Lively Night Market
We were walking back to our hotel which was in the Hanoi Old Quarter after dinner at Bun Cha Ta restaurant. Along the way we passed by a busy pedestrianised area which was the night market. I could not remember the name of the street. It was a Friday evening. The streets were closed to traffic. Vendors set up stalls selling clothings, souvenirs, food, paintings etc. It was a lively place. The most prominent and most brightly lit building was the Ham Ca Map (which means teeth of the shark). That appeared to be the most photogenic and sought after spot for that instagrammable shot. The weather was cool that evening. We had so much fun just being outdoor and wandering around (when you don’t have to worry about motorbikes circling round you).

It was an amazing experience in the night market
A must-visit place on your Vietnam trip. In fact, this is a weekend night market, open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Try to reach there around 6 p.m. and experience the arrangements for the night market. How they are changing a normal street into a night market where a lot of antique shops, street foods, dress shops, etc. are available. Vietnamese are very kind and always put a smile on their faces, which makes us more comfortable and gives us a feeling to spend more time there. Like everywhere, you need to bargain at some points. Sometimes, we may feel it is worth buying something at their cost. We stay there till the market closes. We had street food, bought many items, and talked to many local people. You need to add weekends to your trip to experience the night market. We put the night market on our last day for final shopping before going back home. This is a must-visit place to complete your Vietnam-Hanoi holiday.

    Second to Danang night market
This is actually a busy thoroughfare throughout the day which turns into a night market after 7 in the evening. The flea market is good for tourists though preference would be to shop from the Dong Xuan wholesale market. The latter closes by 6pm. So if one has the evening only for shopping the night market is the good option. One may also club the Hoan Kiem lake - Nhoc Son Temple visit and finish off with night market.

So much fun and fantastic prices!
During my final Sunday evening in Vietnam, I found myself wandering through the charming streets of Hanoi's Old Quarter and stumbled upon the Night Market. To my delight, I discovered that it offered everything I had purchased earlier, but at even better prices. In hindsight, I wish I had saved my shopping for this vibrant market experience. It's certainly a worthwhile addition to any itinerary, making it worth considering planning your trip around a Sunday evening in Hanoi.

Fun night out with family of teenagers
So much fun with the family! Great for picking up some bargain clothing or cute souveniers. Gets very busy but is easy to navigate. Recommend finishing with a relaxing walk around the lake soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying some fun performances along the way. Also great after the intensity of the market. Teenage kids cut their teeth bargaining and picked up some decent bargains at the market (I think the stall owners were being kind!). We stopped at an ice cream stall on the lake during our walk which finished the night perfectly. Very squashy at the market and not recommended for prams, wheelchairs etc however plenty of space around the lake which would be wheelchair / pram friendly.

Chaotic crowd with chaotic traffic thrown into it. Go only if you are comfortable moving in large crowds. Items sold are quite cheap but not of high quality. About 70 to 80% of the items sold are clothes out of which a large majority are brand rip offs. A lot of accessories and shoes are sold as well (again, lots of fake branded items). I have no interest in buying brand rip offs. With a lot of difficulty, found a pair of sports shoes for my daughter that didn't have Nike or Adidas written on it and they were actually quite good. A few places were selling curios and the prices looked quite good. But, honestly, it was a challenge deciding to buy anything in the huge crowd when you're constantly being swept off! I live in Asia and I've rarely seen that level of crowding. It's still a unique experience.

This weekly night market only opens from Fri-Sundays. Its a huge, huge market stretching to a few streets. We spent about 3 hours here . Quality of sports shoes & apparels here are good. Don't forget to bargain, as prices are always highly inflated. This is expected . Otherwise you end up paying ridiculous prices.
We bought different sports shoes that were quoted 450K-500K but in the end , got it for 300K- 350K.

The night market is very huge which have occupied few of the streets. The more impressive was the big crowd along the streets. Must be careful of your belongings and small kids. Some of the stalls selling very unique souvenirs but majority offered clothing. There were variety of choices maybe other night markets wouldn't offered. Be prepared to negotiate the price as the initial price they offered could be very expensive but it depended on your luck. It was one of the highlights of our Hanoi trip ended with a sweet memory.

This was my first experience as far as night markets go and I'm comparing it to other places I've visited since then throughout our travels around Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. It's quite noisy, loads of stalls, loads of people, some street food and generic souvenirs. The best way to enjoy it is to find the Peachy Craft Bar, sit on its balcony and look at the hustle and bustle down below.

A whole Street is shut down on Saturday & Sunday from 8 PM onwards. The street is opposite to Lake and Domino's. Series of stalls selling pin to elephant. Prices are not very low. Makes a late start and hence you should be prepared for a late night experience. I found it warming up at 9 PM and hence didnt hang around late night. All in all can pick up the experience but don't expect to make a killing

The night market is large but really no different from the many markets we have visited in Europe. Shops are open either side of the market and if anything we bought more from these shops than the stalls. It was raining when we went and once or twice the stall holders had to clear the collected water from the roof of the stall, we got wetter from that than the rain. The other issue is that the motorcyclists are allowed up both sides of the stalls , just have to keep your wits about you. Had to go but not the highlight of our Hanoi stay

If you love value for money, its great place. If you're Brand Freak then you wont enjoy much. They have all Chinese made clothing and cutlery at cheap rate, (you must bargain a bit)

I would call it all first copy market from Clothing, shoes, Watch, Belt and Toys !!

we even bought new bag from here, after shopping :)
