I am glad that our guide included this temple, which is located in a busy area but as others have said, it could be easily missed. Located on Hang Bac Street in central Hanoi. it is quite beautiful and sublimely decorated.

Located in a 700 year old temple on Hang Bac street, This is definitely the most authentic performance of traditional Vietnamese Art in Hanoi.
Celebrating different arts throughout Vietnam, including the once outlawed art of Ca Tru: Which is certainly interesting to experience. It's a kind of poetry where emotion is only displayed by the voice. It's chilling.
They have a meet and greet after the show where you can meet the musicians and try the instruments and drink tea.

Dinh Kim Ngan and the history of silversmiths in the old town of Hà Thành
Hanoi was formerly composed of 61 neighborhoods of Thang Long (under the Tran Dynasty) and then 36 districts of Dong Kinh during the Le Dynasty,
It was a place where people worked as a craftsman or merchant but still very attached to their home village
At the end of the 15th century and early 16th century, Mr. Luu Xuan Tin Minister of the Interior, from the village of Chau Khê, ((Hai Duong Province) was responsible for building a silver foundry
He went to Châu Khê to recruit workers for working as silversmiths - Since this event, nearly half of the population of the village of Châu Khê lives there. They set up two houses to worship the house, Kim Ngan Dinh Thi , number 42 (also known as the lower house). and next door Kim Ngan Truong Thi, number 50 (upper house no longer exists). wich reminds the village and the characteristic of the traditional craft town. . "Dinh Kim Ngan was the place where the material was received and presented to" Ty Quan "who is the representative of the court to submit the finished products., Until the mid-20th century, the house remained a meeting place and training for street artisans.
When King Gia Long moved the capital to Hue, the silver foundry also moved. The place, abandoned, was gradually squatted by many families. In 2004, the authorities of the capital made the decision to restore this historic building.
The families were rehoused and the work, carried out in cooperation with the city of Toulouse, was completed at the beginning of 2011. Today, the dinh has regained its worship and conviviality function for the inhabitants of the street.
Silver and cast silver have become the "privilege" of villagers of Châu Khê - Hang Bac
To see: the inner courtyard, the hammock, the throne, the scrolls showing the four spirits Long - Ly - Quy - Phuong, many valuable items. Beautiful representation of the decorative art of the time Le and Nguyen. Nice exhibition . Worth a visit...

This temple is easy to miss but it is actually right on a busy main thoroughfare on Hang Bac Street in central Hanoi. Look for it, enter and you won't be disappointed, it is beautifully but simply decorated. There is traditional live music there several nights a week which is worthwhile at about $10US for entry.

Easy enough to find though - north side of Hang Bac, between the junctions of Ma May and Ta Hien.
Probably only worth visiting when there's a concert on, otherwise you'll only be there five minutes at most.
Live music, dance, song - 8pm every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (pic attached).
It's certainly free to enter during the day and the night concert appears to be free too - last day in Hanoi now, so can't confirm for sure.

They present a concert of traditional music in the evening at this temple. We've been to Hanoi several times and finally went to a performance. I wish we had done so much earlier. The music is lively and entertaining, and the costumes stunning. We'll go again on future visits.

I think that this temple really is a historic and cultural treasure, but after seeing several temples during the day, this being the last, it wasn't all that exciting. Still, pretty and interesting hand done metal work
