Interesting place but will be even more interesting if there will be English speaking guide or a bit more plates with explanations in English.
Otherwise, nice place.
Hope the owner will consider spend some money for ventilation to preserve exhibits.

My family and I were here in June, 2017 and would love to confirm that this is a must- visit-tour you should take to fulfill your trip in Da Lat. The gorgeous pictures tell you how amazing the embroidery art is, how talented the embroiderers are, and how hard to preserve a traditional art. If you stop at the Mother's kitchen corner to have a hot corn- on- the-cob, your tour here will be just as warm as coming home.

I was simply curious as I had been in Vietnam for about a month and had seen many types of embroidery. XQ is soooo much more than embroidery. It has some of the most exquisite works of art I have seen even in museums. It has multiple rooms/themed venues with sculptures, paintings, historical commentaries, and of course examples of clothing and decor items using very fine silk tread embroidery. I wish I had read up on the exhibits prior to visiting as it would have given more context and meaning to the experience. I only was there for two hours and I could have easily expanded my visit to 1/2 day.

Don't let the shabby entrance fools you, and don't get put off by the expensive entrance fee (100k dong), its worth every penny! This place is huge, and its beyond my comprehension how did they managed to architect and build the maze liked place. There are stairs going down, turning left or right to a corner, there is always something to see, there is so much to see, to finish the whole tour would take about 2 hours no joke. We are not allowed to take pictures of the displayed items inside, but we can take pictures outside. Now I won't ruin it for you, just go and experience it first hand yourself !

We visited this place as part of a day tour.
What seemed like a quaint humble entrance into the property turned out to be an amazing unravelling of a labyrinthian home! The house is built in the traditional royal Vietnamese floorplan and it was amazing how large and expansive it really was. The quality and skill behind each piece of embroidery was equally jaw-dropping. I saw the best embroidery in my life in this place. And I marvelled at how the story of the couple developed from before the war till what it is today.
The founders are truly artists: producing a kind of quality of beauty that their mind encapsulates, regardless of whether the world approves of it or not. I was inspired by the vision and dedication of the couple in their craft.
It also depends on the guide that you have as they would further explain other aspects of the house, the founder, the artists, the architecture of the home during your visit.

I stumbled on the XQ Art House quite by accident as I was wondering around the super quaint city of Da Lat. Decided to pay the museum fee and take a peek and oh WOW I am sure glad it did. What an amazing place. This is a museum of exquisite fine art like no other I have ever seen. It is filled to the brim with silk embroidery that is so insanely detailed that is is hard to believe they were all hand made. What a labor of love. Some of the art pieces stand 8 feet tall (2.5M) and must contain millions and millions of threads. So detailed that it looks like a high quality photo until you get closer and see the threads. Shocking is all I can say. I have a whole new appreciation and respect for the art of embroidery. Aside from the many art pieces, there is an interesting curation from start to finish that takes you on a journey of Vietnamese culture which I found very interesting. This is easily a 2 hour experience, more if you are an art lover as there is just so much to take in here. I discovered their Saigon location too, which is a mini version of this place, but if you can make it to Da Lat, this is absolutely the epicenter of fine embroidery, perhaps in the whole world.
I was there in December 2018 but Tripadvisor only allows me to go back to September 2020 for some reason? Guess I should have written this sooner.

Not really the thing you would expect to excite an older Aussie male but my mother was a seamstress and designer of fabrics and I decided to visit in her memory.
There are actually two XO exhibits - one out of town near the Love Valley and this one in town. Not sure about the other one but this house would have blown my mother away.
As everyone else mentions, the artistry and expertise is absolutely astounding, so much so that you really have to get close to realize that the frescos are actually embroidered, not painted. Some of the works are metres long and high and one can only imagine the amount of work and time that needed to be spent to create such masterpieces.
Several rooms and floors to explore and there was at least one woman working on a new piece while I was there. Not at lot of english signage or spoken, so take your translator (virtual or real) with you.
They also sell some small pieces of work and some lengths of silk, so take some spare cash with you as while not cheap but VIet standards, there are some really good deals on the cloth to be had.
If you are bored, take the long (2km) walk out of town and along side of the lake - beautiful weather to do so, great views along the way and the XO Art House is really worth the effort.
